Karthi’s Marshal To Feature Nani Cameo? (Photo Credit –Instagram)

We last saw Karthi in a cameo role in Nani’s Hit: The Third Case. According to Cine Josh, news has emerged that Nani is expected to return the favor by joining the cast of Karthi’s film Marshal (formerly Karthi 29) in a cameo role. Before settling on the name Marshal, the project was referred to as Karthi 29.

Production officially began at Prasad Studios in Chennai following a puja ceremony. Other cast members include Mollywood star Nivin Pauly, along with Kalyani Priyadarshan, Vadivelu, and Sathyaraj.

Sardar 2, the much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster spy thriller Sardar, starring Karthi in the lead role, has confirmed its music director. The makers of the film have announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja, the popular composer and singer, will be scoring the music for the film. This will be Yuvan’s third collaboration with director Ps Mithran, after Irumbu Thirai and Hero. Yuvan will be replacing Gv Prakash Kumar, who composed the music for the first part of Sardar.

Sardar 2 will continue the story of Vijay Prakash, a former police officer who joins a secret spy agency to fight against a powerful enemy. The film is expected to have high-octane action sequences and thrilling twists and turns. Actress Laila, who made a comeback in cinema with director P. S. Mithran’s recently released superhit film ‘Sardar’, has shared on social media a behind-the-scenes video from the film in which she gets killed.

Laila, who plays a character that gets killed in the film, posted the video of a man forcing her head into a tank full of water, with her hands tied behind her back.

Sharing the video on Instagram, she wrote: “Special behind the scenes of ‘Sardar’. Film making is not a simple or easy job.”

Director P. S. Mithran does it with ease. Of course, director of photography George sets the mood with his lighting and special angles and effects. Stunt master Dhilip added the spice, but editor Ruban really made magic with his editing skills! Praveen Raja’s costumes were just all underwater. This is a very raw footage. Sources close to the unit of the film said that producer Lakshman Kumar, who is thoroughly pleased with the success of the film, has presented the film’s director P S Mithran a Toyota Fortuner.

Prince Pictures, the production house behind ‘Sardar’, on its Twitter handle put out a teaser making an announcement that a sequel will be made.

In the teaser, an Intelligence official is seen talking to Karthi. He tells him: ‘You have destroyed a major operation of the government. Therefore, you are dismissed from the police force” and added: “I was the one who made them do it.”

He then makes an offer to Karthi. “Your identity right now is that you are the son of a traitor. And that is to our advantage. This will enable you to earn a good name from our enemies. Are you willing to work for me as an agent?”

Karthi readily agrees and the Intelligence official tells him that they will start with Cambodia.

Actor Karthi, who plays the lead in director P. S. Mithran’s upcoming spy thriller, ‘Sardar’, has disclosed that it was director P. S. Mithran’s single-line narration on how the army chose to recruit a theatre artiste and turn him into a spy that got him hooked onto the project.

Speaking at the trailer launch event of the film on Friday, actor Karthi said: “When producer Lakshman made me meet director P. S. Mithran, the latter casually narrated a one-liner to me. Mithran told me that in the eighties, when the Indian government was looking to set up a team of spies, they tried to train some of those in the military to act.

“However, despite a lot of effort, those in the military couldn’t act. That was when the think tank thought, ‘Why should we strain so much? Why should we not take a theatre actor and put him in the military?...

Music director G V Prakash on Friday disclosed that actor Karthi will be singing the first song of director P S Mithran’s upcoming action entertainer, ‘Sardar’. Taking to Twitter, G V Prakash, who is scoring the music for the film, said, “The first song of ‘Sardar’ will be sung by our Vandhiyathevan Karthi.

“It’s an ode to our classical theatre performances. The song is a rural folk track named ‘Yerumayileri’.”
