eOne Making TV Adaptation Of Janice Hallet’s ‘The Twyford Code’

eOne is prepping an adaptation of Janice Hallett’s The Twyford Code – the first fruits of the studio’s deal with BAFTA-winning writer-director Paul Andrew Williams. The book is written via automatic transcriptions of recordings made by a former prisoner determined to discover what happened to his teacher. eOne will co-produce with former Sky Studios drama boss Cameron Roach’s Rope Ladder Fiction, with Williams directing and eOne handling global rights. “Janice Hallett’s ingenious second novel has rightly gained a fanbase of epic proportions,” said Sharon Hughff, eOne’s Creative Director, Scripted Television, UK. Deadline revealed eOne’s deal with Williams last year and the Broadchurch director is forging scripted TV shows for all platforms.

Sam Raimi was attached to direct a sci-fi thriller set in the Bermuda Triangle for quite a while – then when he went off to replace Scott Derrickson as the director of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Derrickson stepped in to take the helm of Bermuda. That was almost three years ago and we’re still waiting to hear further information on that Bermuda Triangle project. In the meantime, Mahal Empire is set to release a creature feature called Bermuda Island on January 20th, and you can watch the trailer for the film in the embed above!

Producers Michael Mahal and Sonny Mahal crafted the story for Bermuda Island, which was directed by Adam Werth (Rancher’s Kin) from a screenplay by Crossbreed writer Robert Thompson. The film has the following synopsis: Passengers on their way to a tropical paradise crash at sea and find themselves on a deserted island.

The series will follow the journey of the infamous Herbert West as he navigates through a universe of Lovecraftian lore.

Herbert West: Reanimator stars Zan Alda (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) as the title character with the core cast including Mike Ferguson, Jed Rowen, and Tasha Tacosa (Predator World). Actors slated for recurring roles include Rachel Riley, Steve Wollett (Jack Be Nimble), Jackson Everest, Bj Mezek, Lisa Hinds (Night of the Tommyknockers), and others! Additionally, legendary special FX artist Joe Castro will be creating some of the core effects for the show.

Lisa is racking up some astounding credits, most recently as executive producer and playing the role of Lady Grey on the film, Devil’s Knight. This medieval tales stars some heavy hitters including Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) and Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight).
