Bougainvillea, directed by Amal Neerad and starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil, was released in theaters on 17th October. The psychological slasher crime thriller is now set for its Ott debut.

The movie will be available to stream on SonyLIV. The premiere will commence on December 13th. This Ott release comes almost two months after the theatrical premiere. While it definitely achieved the latter, things have somewhat slowed down when it comes to the box office numbers. On its 12th day, the India net Bougainvillea box office collections of the Fahadh Faasil starrer come to 16.36 crore. At the same time, the gross collection comes to 19.30 crore. The movie has earned around 16.5 crore from its overseas collection. The worldwide collection of the movie now comes to 35.8 crore. The film moves towards the 40-crore target at a snail’s pace.

The worldwide collection of the movie now comes to 34.71 crore.

Director Amal Neerad is back, two years after the massive success of his gangster action film ‘Bheeshma Parvam’, which starred Mammootty. The new project ‘Bougainvillea’ marks another collaboration between Amal Neerad and Fahadh Faasil, following their successful partnerships in ‘Iyobinte Pusthakam’ (2014) and ‘Varathan’ (2018), both of which were well-received and showcased their strong creative synergy.

Plot

Bougainvillea is a psychological thriller that explores the intricate dynamics of a family entangled in a police investigation. Set against the haunting backdrop of a string of enigmatic tourist disappearances in Kerala, the narrative unravels the complexities and secrets hidden within their lives.

The pre-production work of the upcoming Malayalam web series “Pharma” is in full swing, with the set work in progress. The series is being directed by P R Arun and produced by Krishnan Sethukumar under the banner of Movieemill Productions. It will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

The series stars Nivin Pauly, Rajit Kapur, Shruti Ramachandran, and Veena Nandakumar in the lead roles. Nivin Pauly is making his web series debut with this project.

Disney+ Hotstar, the leading streaming platform in India, is all set to launch its second Malayalam web series after the success of Kerala Crime Files. The new web series, titled Pharma, will feature Nivin Pauly, Sruthi Ramachandran, Rajit Kapur, Veena Nandakumar, and Narain in pivotal roles.

The series is directed by PR Arun, who helmed the critically acclaimed film Finals, and produced by Krishnan Sethukumar, who has backed films like Unda, Ivide, and James And Alice.
