Amidst changing streaming strategies, Apple TV+ has decided to cancel 4 original shows in the year 2025. The decision comes after careful calculation about what the channel wants to air. The rise in production casts, evolving viewer tendencies, and the growing competition have led to Apple TV+ making these tough choices.
They have had to reassess their slate to keep in the running, only the shows and movies that truly represent what the channel stands for. Some of the cancelled shows have critical acclaim, or had stellar casts, but they failed to stand the test of the tough performance metrics that are now used to judge content.
Why is Apple TV+ saying goodbye to these original shows?

Get ready to check into Las Colinas one last time this summer when Acapulco season 4 premieres. Apple TV+ announced the highly-anticipated release date for the comedy-drama, as well as the bittersweet news that the fourth season will be the last. Even though I'm not ready to say goodbye, I think many of us fans saw this coming. So when does the final season get here?
Acapulco bids farewell with season 4 in July
Acapulco season 4 premieres Wednesday, July 23, 2025 with the first two episodes on Apple TV+. An exact episode count wasn't shared. Though based on previous seasons, it's expected that there will be a total of 10 episodes.
The release of the new season comes a little over a year following the season 3 finale. In the streaming world nowadays, that's actually not a very long time or wait. So at least that's something good. It'll also be nice to have the series in the warmer months.

“Pulse” may have kicked off with a big focus on the complicated romance between Danny Simms and Xander Phillips, and by the end of Season 1 the messiness between them seemed to fade into the background thanks to a long-awaited apology and an admission of guilt.
After Danny (Willa Fitzgerald) rescinded her sexual harassment claim against her ex, her future at the hospital remained under threat by Xander’s (Colin Woodell) influential parents, who hoped to get her out of their son’s way. When Danny confronted the disgruntled parent of a patient of her sister Harper’s (Jessy Yates), Natalie Cruz (Justina Machado) told Danny that she now had cause to fire her from the residency program.

Pulse is a new medical drama series streaming on Netflix that does not manage to bring out the nuances of the genre and restricts itself to the typical tropes of a romantic drama about troubled and confused souls. Based in a private hospital in Miami, the series follows Danny Simms and her friends and colleagues, all of whom have to deal with complications in their personal lives, all while treating patients who are rushed to the emergency room. Overall, Pulse does not add anything new to the table, and neither does it execute the basics of the genre too well, making it a very mediocre watch.
Pulse begins with an introduction to the characters who are going to be integral to the 10 long episodes, who happen to be doctors, residents, nurses, and medical students at Maguire Hospital in Miami. At the center of this set of individuals is a young 3rd-year resident named Danny Simms,...

Netflix’s 2025 presentation, the medical drama series Pulse, is nothing we have not seen before, but it can still be interesting to some because it is set entirely in a hospital and presents the (highly exaggerated) lives of the doctors and interns working at the place. At the center of its plot is a 3rd-year resident, Danny Simms, who has to deal with the many struggles of her personal and professional lives while treating patients who are rushed to the emergency room at Maguire Hospital in Miami. Overall, Pulse is a mostly mediocre series that will be appealing only to those highly interested in the medical drama genre.

Twenty years ago, “Grey’s Anatomy” opened with the premise: What if a pretty surgical intern hooked up with her hot neuro attending and romance ensued? “Pulse,” a new medical drama created by Zoe Robyn, attempts a twist on this premise: What if a resident hooked up with her chief … and then she accused him of sexual harassment?

Netflix's upcoming new medical drama Pulse is certainly giving off Grey's Anatomy vibes if you ask me. Right down to the central relationship too. But, that doesn't mean I'm not going to watch it! I'm actually really looking forward to the upcoming series. And I think you fellow medical drama fan s will be excited about it too.
Pulse premieres Tuesday, April 3, 2025 on Netflix. There's a total of 10 episodes to look forward to. You might think that something as intense as a medical drama might be too much as a binge. Though with Grey's Anatomy doing so well streaming on Netflix, it's clear there's an audience for it. And I think that's why the streamer is clearly trying its hand at its own version. I'm definitely willing to give it a chance.
I can already tell based on the newly released trailer that I'll also be shipping Danny Simms and Xander Phillips.

One of the projects we’ve been crowing about coming up on Netflix in 2025 is the streamer’s first-ever medical procedural series, Pulse. The series has had the lid lifted on it with an April 2025 release date set. Here are all those first looks and a recap of everything we know so far.
First announced publicly in March 2024 (although in development for at least a year before that), the series marks a first for Netflix, at least when it comes to its English-language programming. Although it’s licensed plenty of medical dramas over the years, it’s never made one itself—at least not a procedural.

Rhenzy Feliz has come into the national spotlight thanks to his fantastic co-starring performance in The Penguin, but the actor has been a part of plenty of notable TV shows and movies before 2024, putting in impressive acting showcases each time he appears. Born on October 26, 1997, Feliz was just 26 when he appeared in The Penguin premiere. That wasn't even close to Feliz's first acting job though, and the Brooklyn, NY native got his start back in 2016, with a recurring role on the Hulu comedy series, Casual, in season 2.
Work never let up for Feliz, and aside from a few years in the early 2020s, the Covid-19 years, as they were, he's been constantly performing in either TV or movies. His innocence and charm makes for a good mix that allows him to inhabit sweet, kind characters, who are also stronger than they may appear at first glance. “Acapulco” will be returning for a fourth season at Apple TV+.
The comedy series, which hails from Lionsgate Television, has been renewed for Season 4, the streamer announced Tuesday. The series stars Eugenio Derbez, who also executive produces the show, as Maximo, who recalls his rise to success via a younger version of himself (Enrique Arrizón), who climbs the ranks at Las Colinas Resort.
The news comes just over a month after “Acapulco” debuted its Season 3 finale, which series cocreator Austin Winsberg told TheWrap was crafted carefully in case the show didn’t receive another season order.
“We were also careful to have a thin needle to thread in case we don’t get to Season 4,” Winsberg told TheWrap. “We wanted it to be close-ended enough that it feels like there’s some satisfaction to the story and some answers, while also leaving a lot of doors open for more stories to come.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Acapulco Season 3, Episode 10, “Burning Down the House.”] Acapulco‘s third season has come to a close, and with it a chapter in the Las Colinas story as the installment saw Don Pablo (Damián Alcázar) and Diane (Jessica Collins) ousted from their positions as Alejandro Vera (Jaime Camil) took ownership of the resort, recruiting young Maximi (Enrique Arrizon) as Head of Operations in the ’80s. Apple TV+ doesn’t have the deepest library of television shows available for its subscribers, but the content it does have has repeatedly impressed audiences and critics alike. Over the years, the streaming service has produced numerous award-winning series that have continued to entertain its viewers. While a handful of new and returning shows are headed to the streaming platform next month, one science fiction series appears to be drawing the most attention, and rightfully so. If the new series delivers anything close to what Constellation offered viewers in February, then audiences are in for quite a ride.
For those who prefer something other than a science fiction thriller, the streaming service will have two returning comedies and a new historical drama inspired by actual events throughout May. In true Apple TV+ fashion, every series seems primed to offer subscribers binge-worthy shows every week that are brimming with some huge Hollywood names.
