While in Middle School and High School, Jay filmed/wrote a total of 51 movies for fun, with his friends as the cast.
Halloween (1978) is the film that inspired him to pursue a career in Horror Filmmaking.

Wrote/Directed and Acted in a 5 minute skit, during his High School Talent Show entitled "Lady Gaga Telephone Jay Palmieri & Posse", in which he won First Place and $75.
