Christina Hendricks is in final negotiations to join Terry Loane's upcoming coming-of-age drama Measure of a Man.

The film is set in the 1970s and centers on a bullied teen (Riley Griffiths) that is navigating the challenging path of manhood. Christina Hendricks will be portraying his mother. The story is based on a young adult novel written by author Robert Lipsyte titled One Fat Summer.

Christina Hendricks is best known for her role as Joan Harris in AMC's hit series Mad Men. She will next be seen in Ryan Gosling's fantasy thriller How to Catch a Monster.

Terry Loane is directing from a script provided by David Scearce. Christian Taylor will be producing.

No production schedule has been released.

The Mad Men star will appear alongside Riley Griffiths in director Terry Loane's drama, reports Deadline.

The adaptation of Robert Lipsyte's young adult novel One Fat Summer was written by A Single Man screenwriter David Scearce.

Set in the 1970s, Measure of a Man centres around a bullied teenager (Griffiths) who takes a summer job from his reclusive Wall Street mentor.

Hendricks will play the boy's mother, whose independence and new career path has been causing friction in her marriage.

Hendricks recently starred in indie comedy Struck by Lightning and will shortly reunite with Drive co-star Ryan Gosling for his directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster.

Measure of a Man will shoot this summer in New York and Connecticut.

Chicago – The sincerity of “Super 8” is the wondrous highlight of this film. Director J.J. Abrams creates a valentine to the lives in his childhood, and the films within that dream state. Combining nostalgia, suspense and of course, hope, “Super 8” is one of the more emotional and impactful American films of the year.

Blu-ray Rating: 4.5/5.0

Taking a page out of the producer Steven Spielberg’s playbook, Abrams imagines a town within that universe that is middle American and adventurous at the same time, with pesky military officials infiltrating the serenity and fabricating chaos. Part “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and even “Poltergeist,” “Super 8” is an homage to the master Spielberg, while upping the ante a bit, much like J.J. Abrams did in his “Star Trek” reboot.

Though not exactly one of my favorite movies of the year, even I can't deny the awesome imagery of the initial waves of invasion in "Battle Los Angeles." The ground-level action puts you in the grimy trenches of an alien assault on what would normally be a sunny day in California. If you can forgive a thin plot, the visual assault you'll weather in "Battle La" is worth the rental fee.

Most aliens arrive on Earth with death-rays in their hands and universal domination in their hearts. Paul, on the other hand, goes about his business with a joint in his mouth and Doritos in his belly. Considering how these invasions normally go,...

Working on a J.J. Abrams production isn't all secrets and mystery; there's also a lot of joking going on too. "Super 8" cast members Joel Courtney, Ryan Lee and Riley Griffiths shared their memories from working with the notoriously secretive director in this exclusive behind the scenes clip from the upcoming Blu-ray, hitting stores on November 22.

The clip also shares with us a peek of Abrams giving his young stars Courtney and Elle Fanning direction during a scene from this past summer's homage to the early films of producer Steven Spielberg. "J.J. is super nice," Courtney told cameras for the clip. "He's very interactive in his directing, and he knows what he wants."

Paramount has announced that Super 8 – the supernatural thriller from director J.J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg – will be smashing it’s way to Blu-Ray and DVD on November 22nd.

Set in 1979, Super 8 follows a group of kids out making their own movie one night when they witness a horrible train crash that releases some thing. Both the group of kids and their small town’s lawman (Kyle Chandler) struggle to uncover the shocking truth as a series of strange phenomena occur in the area.

The various DVD/Blu-Rays will have more than two hours of bonus material, including eight behind-the scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, a deconstruction of the train crash sequence and commentary from the producers and cinematographer.

Super 8 stars Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Gabriel Basso, Zach Mills, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Ron Eldard and has made more than $250 million worldwide.

Paramount Home Entertainment will release Super 8 on a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack on November 22, 2011. The movie will come with a bunch of bonus material including a commentary audio track by director J.J. Abrams.

Super 8 was one of the summer 2011's hits, grossing $150 million dollars at the domestic box office. It was Abrams' homage to the fantastical movies of Steven Spielberg and his Amblin production company that were made in the 1980s, and received solid critical reviews upon opening.

Over two hours worth of bonus material are on the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack (a stand-alone DVD version of Super 8 will also be available but it will only contain the movie as well as a digital copy.)

Paramount Home Entertainment has finally announced the release date and details for J.J. Abrams' Super 8 on both blu-ray and DVD. So if you missed out on this film over the Summer (shame on you!) you'll finally get your chance to check it out.

Most of us here at Tmp really loved Super 8. Matt's review was oozing with love for the film, and it was well deserved. Now, fans will have the chance to take this darling home and enjoy it as many times as they want on November 22nd. I know it seems like a ways away, especially considering films like Transformers 3 (which has only been out 2 and 1/2 months) is releasing in a couple weeks. More than likely, however, they're trying to cash in on the Holiday shopping.

I mean, the big films with lots of fan followings (like Star Wars) can release pretty much whenever...

Before we get down to the business of mocking teenagers for their teenager ways, I thought I'd first try and offer some perspective. First: Some of the winners in this year's Teen Choice Awards aren't bad. Where Harry Potter is concerned, I'd expect most teenagers today choose it as the best movie. At that age, I probably would have, as well. Also, Easy A wins a few categories here (as does Emma Stone) and, at 17, that movie would've been rocked my Jordan Knight pompadour, too. They also choose Black Swan and Natalie Portman in a couple of categories, which are fine choices. More inexplicable are the wins for the likes of Just Go With It, Brooklyn Decker, and Bad Teacher (as well as Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake).
