Post-Apocalyptic Dark Thriller Film 'Beyond the Wasteland' US Trailer
Image
"You are not ready to see what's out there." Well Go USA has debuted an official trailer for a dark thriller film called Beyond the Wasteland, made by filmmaker Vardan Tozija, originally titled just M during its festival premiere. This film is from North Macedonia and is a new take on a post-apocalyptic future - though it's really just another zombie movie. Not to be confused with another doc also called Beyond the Wasteland that is about Mad Max fans, this is a gritty horror feature instead. In a world ravaged by a deadly virus, a young boy is faced with losing everything as he journeys through a shattered world, shrouded in silence and overtaken by the infected and the conflict-torn remnants of humanity. The indie film stars Matej Sivakov, Sashko Kocev, Aleksandar Nicovski, Kamka Tocinovski, Bojana Gregoric Vejzovic, and Verica Nedeska. It won an award at the Sofia Film...

A Night of Horror has long taken pride in being recognized for its excellence in showcasing the best and bloodiest new horror films from around the globe. And this year’s program is already shaping up to be one of my favorite line-ups yet. In the first wave alone are some of the most original, terrifying, and at times hilarious genre offerings that you’ll see this year: A bloody buffet of zombies,...

Anulka Dziubinska, Karl Lanchbury, and Marianne Morris in The Vampyres (1974)
Reel Suspects to run 'Amok' at Cannes, announces 'Vampyres' sales
Anulka Dziubinska, Karl Lanchbury, and Marianne Morris in The Vampyres (1974)
Exclusive: UK’s Soda Pictures has picked up remake of cult classic Vampyres.

Paris-based Reel Suspects has acquired Macedonian director Vardan Tozija’s crime-drama Amok [pictured] about an introverted, abandoned teenager who goes on to lead a gang of violent, feral lost boys.

“It’s a really powerful film, a Macedonian version of the City of God. It came to me through my network and I’ve been following it since the project stage,” says Reel Suspects CEO Matteo Lovadina, who is aiming for a Toronto international premiere for the film.

The picture stars first-time actor Martin Gjorgoski as Phillip, a rough, marginalised teenager, who is forced to participate in a terrifying encounter by a corrupt policeman while in the care of social services.

Irrevocably damaged, he is hell-bent on seeking violent revenge on society, enlisting the other “lost boys” in the tough juvenile adoption centre he calls home.
