Howard Stern Tries to Own the Rumor Mill of His SiriusXM Demise
Image
Taking on the Fleet Street rumor mill isn’t easy, but it appears SiriusXM and Howard Stern are giving it a shot.

In the lead-up to Stern’s next contract talks with the satellite radio giant — his five-year deal was estimated to be worth $100 million a year and is up at the end of 2025 — a familiar refrain of “Is this it for Howard?” has echoed a bit louder given his age, 71, and this transitional media moment (podcasts are flooding the zone, and also becoming the new TV, too).

This time it was The Sun, with its Aug. 5 air quote “to be canceled” headline, that sent a reminder that it’s once again negotiations mode between the “King of All Media” and his home for the past two decades. The News Corp. paper, citing an insider that contradicted its own headline, said that Sirius would be offering Stern a new deal...

Daily Show Fans Beware Colbert’s Exit May Spell Trouble for Another Late-Night Host
Image
The future of The Daily Show and Jon Stewart’s return just got murkier thanks to a puzzling statement from Comedy Central’s new boss. The Daily Show launched in 1996 and became iconic under Stewart’s leadership from 1999 to 2015. Known for political satire, sharp humor, and cultural impact, it shaped late-night TV and inspired shows like Last Week Tonight and The Colbert Report.

With The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ending in 2026, fans are speculating if The Daily Show, which saw Jon Stewart return in 2024, could be next. As Comedy Central faces leadership changes and CBS shifts its late-night strategy, questions grow about the future of political satire, network comedy, and long-running franchises in the ever-changing world of network TV.

LateNighter featured a report stating that when Oliver Darcy from Status caught up with George Cheeks and asked him about the status of Stewart’s contract renewal, the executive now...

SiriusXM revenue, subscriber count dips during Q2
Image
(Graphic by The Desk) Key Points SiriusXM posted $2.14 billion in revenue for the quarter, down 2% on a year-over basis. SiriusXM’s core satellite and streaming radio business earned $1.6 billion in revenue, down 2% compared to Q2 2024. Net income fell to $205 million from $354 million.

SiriusXM continued to struggle with churn in its core satellite and streaming radio business during the second quarter (Q2) of the year, though the company is hoping a new, ad-supported product will turn things around.

During Q2, SiriusXM’s overall revenue was $2.14 billion, down two percent when compared to the same quarter last year. Net income fell to $205 million, down from $354 million logged during Q2 2024, while diluted earnings per share (Eps) fell to $0.57.

Adjusted Ebitda came in at $668 million for the quarter, down from $702 million in the prior year, reflecting the modest revenue decline tempered by cost discipline. Free cash flow improved to $402 million, up 27 percent year over year.

SiriusXM Reports Drop to 33 Million Paid Subscribers, Strength in Podcasting
Image
SiriusXM reported 33 million paid subscribers in the second quarter of 2025, a decrease of approximately 68,000 from the previous quarter.

However, the audio giant pointed to this as an improvement after losing 100,000 paid subscribers in the same period last year, and noted its fifth quarter of subscriber improvement, which it attributed to “meaningful improvements in new acquisition programs,” as well as low churn.

SiriusXM reported revenue of $2.14 billion, a 2 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2024, and net income of $205 million compared to $354 million a year ago. The fall in revenue was due to a $21 million reduction in subscriber revenue, according to the company.

Earnings per share came in at 57 cents, below analyst expectations and compared to 74 cents in the second quarter of 2024.

The company highlights the performance of podcasts, which saw revenue up close to 50 percent compared to the same period last year. SiriusXM said the performance was due to “expanded video and social monetization,...

Seth Meyers Has Finally Found A World Where Late-Night Talk Shows Are Thriving
Image
Warning: Contains spoilers for the latest episode of Digman!, “Jack And Rose.”

Late-night talk shows are down bad.

It’s been almost three years since The Daily Show’s last permanent host, Trevor Noah, left the show, and Comedy Central still hasn’t replaced him with an anchor who works all four days each week. The Tonight Show cut 20 percent of its weekly programming last fall. Taylor Tomlinson’s exit from After Midnight this spring convinced CBS to cancel the show rather than replace her. But the loudest death knell for comedic late-night talk shows sounded less than two weeks ago, when CBS abruptly fired host Stephen Colbert and canceled The Late Show. Now, not only do we have to spend the next 10 months in Colbert’s lame-duck era until the show actually ends in May; we also have to hear every idiot’s opinion about it — from Jay Leno...

Donald Trump Won’t Absolutely Love That He May Have Just Handed an Emmy to Stephen Colbert
Image
The video plays like a cave painting from the Neolithic era or, even more distantly, from when late-night television still mattered: Stephen Colbert sits in the host chair and makes amends with Donald Trump.

“I want to apologize to you because I’ve said a few things about you over the years that are, in polite company, perhaps unforgivable,” the Late Show host tells him. “I hope you’ll accept my apology.”

“Accepted,” Trump says, as he notes that Colbert has also said nice things.

That moment unfolded a decade ago on the set of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, before Trump had yet to run in a single 2016 primary.

Last week, a very different Trump-coded scene unfolded at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York, as Colbert told a restive audience the show was being canceled after his contract expired at the end of next season. This time,...

The Daily Show announces a new host with impressive late-night resume
Image
The Daily Show is getting a new voice as the Comedy Central late-night TV show announces another host joining its rotation. Correspondent Josh Johnson is next up to get his chance in the spotlight.

After Jon Stewart makes his weekly appearance on Monday night, Johnson will be behind the Daily Show for the remainder of the week. His first show will be on Tuesday, July 22, when he sits down with author Rob Franklin. Singer Samara Cyn and Happy Gilmore 2 actor Christopher McDonald are scheduled to talk with Johnson later in the week.

It may be Johnson's first turn hosting The Daily Show, but he's already put in years of work at the iconic late-night franchise. The stand-up comedian joined the writing staff in 2017, and made his debut as a correspondent on February 20, 2024.

Johnson's field pieces have covered a wide range of topics, including where cab drivers go to the bathroom,...

Jon Stewart Addresses The Daily Show's Future After Stephen Colbert's Late Show Cancellation
Image
Comedy icon Jon Stewart discusses the end of The Late Showand the future of The Daily Show.

Per Deadline, Stewart recently touched on the future of The Daily Show following the abrupt cancellation of The Late Show, which itself the comedian has been adamantly opposed to. When asked if he was worried that the Skydance-Paramount Global merger could mean the end of his own series, Stewart replied, "Unfortunately, we haven't heard anything from them. They haven't called me and said like 'Don't get too comfortable in that office, Stewart.' But let me tell you something, I've been kicked out of sh***ier establishments than that. We'll land on our feet."

Stewart went on to discuss the massive draw that The Daily Show has for Comedy Central, even nearly three decades after it first aired in 1996. "I’d like to believe that without The Daily Show… I don’t know.

Jon Stewart Talks Future of ‘The Daily Show’ After Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ Cancellation
Image
Jon Stewart has spoken out about the future of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart after Stephen Colbert announced The Late Show With Stephen Colbert would end in May 2026. In the July 17 episode of Stewart’s The Weekly Show podcast, he opened up about what he thinks could happen to The Daily Show on Comedy Central, which, like The Daily Show, is owned by Paramount. Paramount is currently in the middle of an $8 billion merger with Skydance. “Unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything from them,” Stewart, 62, said. “They haven’t called me and said like, ‘Don’t get too comfortable in that office, Stewart!'” He continued, “I’ve been kicked out of s****ier establishments than that. We’ll land on our feet.” Additionally, Stewart confessed that he “honestly [doesn’t] know” what the future of The Daily Show is at this point. The TV personality originally hosted the late-night show...

How Stephen Colbert’s cancellation speaks to late night’s Emmy woes
Image
Is Stephen Colbert's just-announced cancellation the proverbial canary in the coal mine for late-night television? That question is top of mind after CBS announced its shocking decision to bring The Late Show With Stephen Colbert — and the entire Late Show franchise — to an end in May 2026. The host broke the news during Thursday night's episode, remarking: "I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away."

In a joint statement, CBS execs George Cheeks, Amy Reisenbach and David Stapf said the decision to get out of late-night television was a financial one. "It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount," they emphasized. But that sentiment didn't sway others from connecting Late Show's cancellation to CBS parent Paramount's controversial decision to settle a defamation suit brought by President Donald Trump ahead of the studio's long-planned merger with Skydance Media.

Parks & Rec Star Slams Trump For Cutting National Parks Budget: "This Is A Huge Mistake"
Image
Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman has slammed President Donald Trump's cuts to the United States National Parks budget during his appearance on The Daily Show. Offerman was making his fourth appearance on the satirical news program on Tuesday, July 15.

Having previously been interviewed by Desi Lydic and Trevor Noah on the show, this time the actor was given his own segment to address the issue of national parks funding. In Offerman’s best TV show role, he played Ron Swanson, the director of the titular city department in Parks and Recreation. It’s fitting, then, that his Daily Show segment covered this subject.

Offerman has also authored several books about American national parks, so is more knowledgeable than most to discuss a topic so dear to his heart. During his appearance on The Daily Show, the actor criticized the Trump administration’s cuts to national parks funding:

Why The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Was Canceled - Is The Daily Show Next?
Image
Stephen Colbert stunned viewers when he released a video from his show on Instagram bearing the following message:

"I want to let you know something that I found out just last night. Next year will be our last season. The network will be ending 'The Late Show' in May. It's not just the end of our show, but it's the end of 'The Late Show' on CBS. I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away."

After Colbert broke the news, CBS executives released their own statement praising Colbert as "irreplaceable" and lamenting the sad state of the modern TV landscape. "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night," the statement read. "It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content, or other matters happening at Paramount."

That last sentence is notable because, given a recent monologue from Colbert,...

The Daily Show's Ratings Just Did Something We Haven't Seen In A Decade
Image
The Daily Show's ratings have just done something that the show has not experienced in a decade. The late-night talk show and news satire program first aired on Comedy Central in July 1996, and has become one of the most popular and longest-running late-night shows on U.S. television, turning host Jon Stewart into more of a household name than he already was.

Stewart departed the show in 2015, and his seat was then taken by South African-American comedian Trevor Noah, whose tenure ran until 2022. While Noah was lauded for the unique perspective he brought to the show, Stewart's return to The Daily Show in 2024 saw a ratings boost, and it looks like things are continuing in that vein.

Per Deadline, The Daily Show has posted its highest viewership in a decade since long-running host Stewart departed in 2015. Interestingly, Nielsen data shows that the second quarter of 2025 was a decade high...

Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart Bash Paramount, Serving Notice They Won’t Be Silenced
Image
Two of Paramount Global’s biggest stars, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, demonstrated they don’t intend to pull their punches despite the fact that the company’s soon-to-be owners might be skittish about political fallout from a thin-skinned president.

Returning from a break with a mustache and an attitude, “The Late Show” host Colbert unloaded on Paramount for its $16 million settlement with President Donald Trump regarding a “60 Minutes” segment on Kamala Harris, referring to the payment as a “big fat bribe” to get rid of a “nuisance lawsuit.”

Stewart, for his part, took Paramount to task with equal gusto on last week’s show, asking in regard to the lawsuit, “Why didn’t they fight it?,” and joking to former “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft — who described the payout to Trump as “a shakedown” — “I’m obviously not a lawyer, but I did watch ‘Goodfellas.’ That sounds illegal.

Seth Meyers Loses Out On Late-Night Emmy Nom As Colbert, Kimmel & Stewart Battle It Out In Talk
Image
The tragic reduction of the number late-night shows nominated for Emmys has hit Seth Meyers.

The Late Night host has missed out on an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Talk Series category after it went down to only three places this year.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show, which is hosted on Monday nights by Jon Stewart, will compete in the category after also fending off competition from upstarts such as buzzy YouTube show Hot Ones and Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.

Last year, The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert were nominated in the category, with The Daily Show winning.

In 2023, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Problem with Jon Stewart were nominated, with The Daily Show also winning.

‘The Daily Show’ Keeps Desi Lydic on Her Toes

On May 8, the day before she popped on a Zoom for this conversation, Desi Lydic was wrapping up prep for that evening’s The Daily Show when the 4:30 curse struck again. White smoke was billowing in Vatican City, and now the staff of the Comedy Central institution needed to reshape the first half of the episode around the announcement of an American pope. “We’ll have an entire show written and then some time between 4 and 5 o’clock, something will happen,” says Lydic, who shares the hosting carousel with Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta and Jon Stewart. “Then we have just enough time to scrap it and start from scratch.”

It’s been a very eventful year. Is there an episode or segment you’re most proud of pulling off?

Jimmy Kimmel Hopes Spreading Conspiracy Theories Leads To Emmys; Julianne Nicholson Holds A Hot Hand For Two Acting Nominations – Notes On The Season

A column chronicling events and conversations on the awards circuit.

The Primetime Emmys nominating ballot is live, voting began Thursday, and all this Phase 1 voting, FYC events and furious jockeying for attention by seemingly every member of the White Lotus cast is coming to a head. Meanwhile, the official ballot brought the sad confirmation, as reported by Deadline, that there were only 13 entries in the Outstanding Talk Series, one short of a 14th nomination that would trigger four nominees, so that means there will be only three nominees this year, and thus you are only allowed to vote for three.

The Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert were nominated in the category last year, as they all were the year before, with Daily Show winning both times. One of them, along with 9 other...

Inside ‘The Daily Show’: The team behind the satirical news series on politics, puppies, punchlines — and staying sane
Image
Since its debut in 1996, The Daily Show has been a cornerstone of political satire and late-night comedy. Under Jon Stewart’s iconic leadership from 1999 to 2015, it evolved into a cultural phenomenon that reshaped how America engages with the news. After Stewart stepped down from his daily hosting duties, Trevor Noah took over the news desk. Following Noah’s departure, Stewart made a return in 2024 as a weekly guest host on Mondays, joining a dynamic team of rotating hosts — Jordan Klepper, Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta — and correspondents Troy Iwata, Josh Johnson and Grace Kuhlenschmidt. Each brings their own sharp perspective to the desk and in the field, continuing the show’s tradition of blending humor with hard-hitting commentary. The Daily Show won two 2024 Emmy Awards for Best Talk Series and Best Picture Editing for Variety Programming from seven nominations, as well as the 2023 Emmy Award for Best Talk Series.

The 2025 Emmys Late-Night Talk Show Category Will Only Have 3 Nomination Spots This Year
Image
The 2025 Emmys are shaking things up for the late-night category, offering only three nomination slots instead of the usual five. For years, the Outstanding Talk Series category has represented at least five nominations for a plethora of late-night talk shows. However, since the number of late-night talk shows has gone down significantly over the years, the race of who should be nominated in the category is tighter than ever.

According to Deadline, there will only be three Emmy nominations for the late-night talk show category, and hosts Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Sean Evans, and John Mulaney will be fighting for the three spots. Emmy voting is just around the corner, but since only 13 shows were submitted for this year, the academy couldn't have more than three nominees, which is one less than last year and two less than the year before. This is a sign of...

Image
Jonathan Mayers, a concert promoter who co-founded the music festivals Bonnaroo and helped create Outside Lands as a principal at Superfly Entertainment, has died. He was 51. The cause of death is as yet unknown.

The news arrives as the three-day Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is set to kick off Thursday with headliner Luke Combs.

The New York City native founded Superfly Presents as a marketing and event company in 1996 with partners Kerry Black, Rick Farman and Richard Goodstone, co-creating events such as the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival with Another Planet Entertainment and Bonnaroo, held since 2002 on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee.

‘The Daily Show’s Ronny Chieng Revels In The “Countercultural” Nature Of The “Circus”
Image
Ronny Chieng became a U.S. citizen in April. The day it happened was a normal day at work with Chieng sitting behind the desk of The Daily Show, until it wasn’t.

Answering questions from the audience, Chieng was surprised by Bill Murray, a guest on that evening’s show, who congratulated him on his achievement, kissing him on the cheek and saluting him before leaving in a very Murray way.

“It’s a crazy day,” said Chieng. “It is a crazy experience to become a U.S. citizen the same day you’re supposed to interview Bill Murray. It’s been a long day, I had to go for the interview, they ask you like 100 questions. I had to memorize how many colonies there were and who’s the President right now. It was very difficult.”

Chieng is pretty clearly aware of who the U.S. President is at any moment,...

Lewis Black Isn’t Done Screaming, But He’s Actually More Optimistic Than You’d Think
Image
From Craig Kilborn to Jon Stewart to Trevor Noah to Jon Stewart again with four other rotating hosts, The Daily Show has evolved many times over its 29-year run. The one constant amid years of transformation? Lewis Black. For nearly three decades, the comic’s rage-filled recurring segment “Back in Black” has eviscerated stupidity in politics, regardless of host or the person living in the White House.

Lewis joined the show during the Clinton administration, which means he’s been with The Daily Show through the Monica Lewinsky scandal, 9/11, the Iraq War, the pandemic, the January 6th insurrection and now President Trump’s second term in office.

I recently spoke with Lewis to better understand how The Daily Show evolved to become such a massive vehicle for speaking truth to power and how the scope and tenor of its coverage has changed with each administration. He gave me his honest assessment of each,...

Presented by “The Daily Show,” the special, titled “Maga: The Next Generation,” will premiere immediately following “The Daily Show” on May 19 at 11:30 p.m. It will stream on Paramount+ and be available on “The Daily Show’s” YouTube channel starting May 20.

Klepper, the “Daily Show” host known for his man-on-the-street interviews at Trump rallies, will meet young Republicans where they are, visiting everywhere from college campuses to Mma octagons. He’ll seek to answer the following questions: “In 2024, Donald Trump did better with voters under 30 than any Republican candidate since 2008. Was it because of economic anxiety or were they drawn to the rizz of a 78-year-old fist dancing to Ymca? Is the Maga vibe shift permanent, or are young voters just rebelling against a Constitution that’s been bossing America around for 250 years?...

‘The Daily Show’ Is In “Game Shape” To Deal With Political Carnage – Contenders TV: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety
Image
The rhythm of late-night television changed back in 2017 when Donald Trump became President, forcing all of the talk shows to prepare for the dreaded 4 p.m. rewrite.

So, when Trump was reelected for a second term, it’s a challenge that all of the late-night shows know how to face.

The team behind The Daily Show says they’re already in “game shape” to handle it.

Desi Lydic, one of the show’s hosts alongside Jon Stewart, Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper and Michael Kosta, was behind the desk earlier this month during “tariff week,” which saw the news change almost hourly. How do you handle a situation like that?

Related: Contenders TV: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety — Deadline’s Complete Coverage

“Oh my god, with a lot of help from a lot of staff members and some opiates,” Lydic joked during Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety event. “[That] was a bit of a roller-coaster news week.

‘In Stand-Up, You Get My Raw Feelings’: How Josh Johnson Is Reinventing Comedy
Image
Josh Johnson can’t remember all of the details about this one particular bank robbery gone wrong. It happened in the Seventies, or maybe it was the Eighties. The amount of money stolen is hazy. But he can recall the parts that matter — the funny ones. “He ran up in there, robbed the place, didn’t wear a mask,” the comedian says. “They eventually catch up with him, and he’s so shocked that he’s been arrested.” With an exasperated flair, the Louisiana native echoes one phrase the culprit...

‘Hacks’ Is So Good It Can Even Make Late-Night TV Seem Alive Again
Image
It’s only been a few days since Taylor Tomlinson ended her run as the only woman in late-night TV to host her own show solo. And it wasn’t because After Midnight, the show she had hosted on CBS, wasn’t successful: It had just been renewed for a third season earlier this month. But Tomlinson had been open all along about needing to be convinced to do the show, which she recently said would never be her “thing thing.” So when she decided she didn’t want to go to an office three days a week anymore — and CBS, presumably, didn’t throw enough money at her to make that more appealing than doing stand-up on the road — Tomlinson quit After Midnight, and CBS announced that it wouldn’t replace her. Instead, it would end After Midnight and stop trying to program the 12:30 a.m. time slot entirely.

The White House Correspondents’ Association is changing its dinner plans: Emmy and Tony Award-nominated writer and comedian Amber Ruffin will no longer serve as the feature entertainer at the organization’s annual fundraiser, according to CNN journalist Brian Stelter.

“At this consequential moment for journalism, I want to ensure the focus is not on the politics of division but entirely on awarding our colleagues for their outstanding work and providing scholarship and mentorship to the next generation of journalists,” Whca president Eugene Daniels says, per Stelter’s reporting.

Will Smith addresses infamous Chris Rock Oscars slap on new album: ‘I won’t get nominated’
Image
On his new album, Based on a True Story, Will Smith addresses slapping Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscars ceremony and suggests that he will never again receive recognition from the Academy as a result of his actions.

“Took a lot, I’m back on top/Y’all gon’ have to get acclimated/Won’t stop, my sh-t still hot/Even though I won’t get nominated,” Smith raps on the track “You Lookin’ for Me?”

While Smith is eligible to receive an Academy Award nomination for his future work, it seems unlikely. During the 2022 Oscars ceremony, where Smith won Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, the actor physically attacked Rock after Rock joked about Jada Pinkett Smith, Smith’s wife. The incident made international headlines, and the Academy eventually suspended Smith from appearing at Academy events for 10 years. The actor also stepped down as a member of the Academy due to his actions.

Why Taylor Tomlinson and Other Young Late-Night Hosts Choose Creator Economy Over TV
Image
One of the most coveted jobs in television is quickly becoming one of the hardest to keep filled.

Taylor Tomlinson is the latest participant in a lengthening parade of comics and talk-show hosts who have decided that a perch in late-night TV is just not for them. Tomlinson announced Wednesday that she would leave the two-season-old “After Midnight” on CBS despite the offer of a third cycle this fall and the backing of Stephen Colbert, who hosts “The Late Show” an hour before her program airs. CBS, meanwhile, won’t cast about for someone new to lead her show’s 12:30 a.m. slot.

She joins Trevor Noah and Roy Wood Jr. in a recent exodus of people who had won established positions in wee-hours programming but felt they could do better on their own. Indeed, the next Johnny Carson may not need an NBC — or any other network — to get the job done.

‘After Midnight’ Canceled at CBS as Taylor Tomlinson Focuses on Stand-Up
Image
Late-night shows simply aren’t the durable roosts they used to be.

Taylor Tomlinson, the host of CBS’ “After Midnight,” is the latest host to exit the wee-hours space as more comedians see better career opportunities in the worlds of stand-up, podcasts and other creator-based media. Tomlinson felt more drawn to stand-up comedy and other potential opportunities, says one person familiar with her thinking, and felt the demands of a regular network show would crimp her ability to consider other projects.

“I am doing less stand-up than I was [before hosting ‘After Midnight’]. I was on tour three weekends a month for years, so to take this job and to know that I was gonna have to scale back a little bit was a very difficult decision for me. I wasn’t sure if it was something I wanted to do or not, because stand-up is the most important things to me.

What Were They Thinking: 10 Things We Wish We Didn’t See at the 2025 Grammy Awards
Image
The Grammy Awards are supposed to be a night of celebrating musical excellence, honoring the best of the best, and delivering jaw-dropping performances. But the 2025 Grammys proved that for every iconic moment, there’s an equal (if not greater) amount of pure, unfiltered cringe.

From fashion choices that made us question reality to awkward red-carpet interviews, the night of the Grammy’s turned into a mix of super chaotic and baffling decisions. So, in honor of those head-scratching, secondhand embarrassment-inducing moments, here are the top 10 things we really wish we could unsee.

10. Taylor Swift avoids Kanye West

Taylor Swift, who was nominated for six awards at this year’s Grammy made headlines for narrowly avoiding an awkward run-in with rap mogul Kanye West. Considering how the duo have been silently feuding since the 2009 Video Music Awards, where West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech to praise Beyoncé, the two singers avoided interacting with each other.

Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. are your top choices to host the 2025 Emmys
Image
Emmy viewers loved last year's team-up of Eugene Levy and Dan Levy so much, they now want to see another father-son duo host the ceremony.

Poppa's House stars Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. are our readers' top choice to host the 2025 Emmys on CBS. They received a leading 29 percent of fans' votes in Gold Derby's recent poll, a double-digit lead over The Daily Show host Jon Stewart and stand-up comedian John Mulaney, both of whom nabbed 16 percent support.

Wayans Sr. is a four-time Emmy nominee for writing and acting on the seminal sketch-comedy series In Living Color, while Wayans Jr. is still looking for his first Emmy bid. Poppa's House is a freshman hit for CBS and recently earned noms at the American Cinema Editors Guild, the Art Directors Guild, and the NAACP Image Awards.

What might viewers expect with a Wayans takeover of the Emmy Awards? Their...

The 2025 Emmys need a host! And we’ve got some ideas.
Image
The Television Academy has cemented Sept. 14 as the date for the 2025 Emmys (see the updated calendar), so now is the perfect time to start thinking about who'd make the perfect host. And we've got some ideas.

First and foremost, Emmy hosts have to be fun. Likable. Energetic. Great on their feet. And, apparently, father-son duos are in.

Following last year's successful team-up of Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, we'd love to see the tradition continue on with Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. They tick all of the above boxes and — bonus points — are currently headlining the sitcom Poppa's House on CBS, the same network that's broadcasting this year's Emmy Awards. That gives them an inside advantage, as the host almost always has a working relationship with the home network.

Wayans Sr. is a four-time Emmy nominee for writing and acting on the seminal sketch-comedy series In Living Color, while Wayans Jr.

“She’s totally naked”: Doechii’s Revealing Outfit Is Even Worse Than Bianca Censori’s Controversial Grammy Dress
Image
Despite being in the game for years, Doechii truly arrived with her music last year, making hard work look fun again. She snagged her first Grammy, and ever since, the internet has been obsessed with the star rapper. Now, she’s serving look after look, Schaparelli’s Fall 2025 Fashion Week was no exception.

Doechii – Denial Is A River cover || Credits: YouTube/Doechii

Everything was flawless, well, except for a tiny wardrobe mishap that has people debating if her dress was even worse than Bianca Censori’s. But was it really that bad? Let’s take a look.

Bianca Censori has mastered the art of wearing (almost) nothing!

They say “everything is fair in love and war“, well, let’s go ahead and add “fashion” to that list as well. In Hollywood, it’s no secret that style often comes before comfort. If an outfit makes a statement, who cares if...
