Jennifer Aniston To Star In I’m Glad My Mom Died Adaptation At Apple TV+ — Jennette McCurdy To Write
While we're all still sat here patiently waiting for The Morning Show Season 4 to finally hit Apple TV+ on 17 September, it looks like its star, Jennifer Aniston, is already lining up her next project to star in and produce at the streamer — and to call it a change of pace for the Friends icon would be an understatement to say the least. The official logline for the series states that it is a “heartbreaking and hilarious recounting of Jennette McCurdy’s struggles as a former child actor while dealing with her overbearing, domineering mother (Aniston). The dramedy will center on the the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as ‘a starlet’s mother.'”
McCurdy previously starred in shows like “iCarly” at Nickelodeon and made appearances in numerous other TV series and films. She published “I’m Glad My Mom Died” in 2022 with Simon & Shuster, with the book quickly topping the New York Times best seller list and remaining on the list for over a year.

Apple TV+ has greenlighted I’m Glad My Mom Died, a dramedy inspired by Jennette McCurdy’s bestselling memoir of the same name with Jennifer Aniston set to star and executive produce.
The casting inevitably brings up questions about the future of Aniston’s popular Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show, which she also stars in and executive produces. The Morning Show is currently picked up through Season 4, which is set to premiere Sept. 17. Aniston’s involvement in I’m Glad My Mom Died will not impact her ability to continue to star alongside Reese Witherspoon should The Morning Show get a fifth season — which I hear is fully expected.
Hailing from Apple Studios, the 10-episode I’m Glad My Mom Died is written, executive produced, and showrun by child actor-turned-writer McCurdy and Ari Katcher.

The child star influencer reckoning isn't coming soon: it's already here. From the trials and tribulations of kids who grew up in the spotlight — from the stars of "Dance Moms" and "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" to viral rapper Lil Tay — to the crimes and tragedies surrounding self-described family friendly clans like the Duggars and the Frankes, the danger of turning kids into on-camera profit machines is by now well documented. But as Netflix's new docuseries "Bad Influence" proves, there are still plenty of "kidfluencer" stories that deserve a spotlight — and some of the kids are finally old enough to tell their own side of the story.
"Bad Influence," which carries the subtitle "The Dark Side of Kidfluencing," dropped on the streamer on April 9, 2025 and has quickly climbed up the streaming charts. According to viewership data aggregate site Flixpatrol, it's currently the second most-watched TV show on the streamer,...

Benedict Cumberbatch Abduction Near Death(Photo Credit –Wikimedia)
Before his Marvel fame and Sherlock stardom, Benedict Cumberbatch faced a nightmare most wouldn’t dare envision. Back in 2004, while filming in South Africa, the Hollywood star found himself in a life-or-death situation. And his mind went to some terrifying places.
“I was really worried that I was going to get raped or molested or just tortured or toyed with in some way, some act of control and savagery,” he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The English star wasn’t overstating. The location was KwaZulu-Natal, a treacherous region north of Durban. Cumberbatch and his co-stars, Theo Landey and Denise Black, were returning from a scuba diving weekend when catastrophe struck. A tire burst on a dark, cold stretch of road. While they scrambled to fix it, they were jumped by armed men.

Did Jennette McCurdy hate Ariana Grande? ( Photo Credit – Instagram; Facebook )
Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande graced the screen together as they came together for the Nickelodeon series Sam & Cat from 2013 to 2014. But hardly anyone knew that filming such a light-hearted Nickelodeon show involved a lot of jealousy behind the cameras. In her raw and revealing memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, McCurdy opened up about the complicated emotions she experienced during the shooting, as she vividly described her growing jealousy and resentment toward Grande.
The cracks begin to show early on, as McCurdy noticed a stark contrast in how the two actresses were treated. While she was expected to be present and available at all times, McCurdy claims Grande was frequently allowed to miss filming to attend award shows, record music, and promote her growing career.

The entertainment industry chews up and spits out child stars like they're tough pieces of jerky (look at how "iCarly" actor Jennette McCurdy disappeared from Hollywood for instance). Resultantly, it's surprising when these young prodigies survive Tinsel Town's subliminal hit jobs and go on to have successful careers as adults. Jenna Ortega is one of the few who made it in this regard. She cut her teeth on everything from the soapie "Days of Our Lives" to the it-must-have-been-a-fever-dream "Richie Rich" series on Netflix. Then, she ascended to the lead in Disney's "Stuck in the Middle" and an important supporting role in season 2 of the I'm-certain-it's-a-"Gossip Girl"-prequel "You."
For Ortega, her acting career has only been on a meteoric rise, as she continues to grow in popularity and feature in bigger TV shows and movies, such as "Wednesday" and "Scream." But how do we determine and rank her best projects?...

Three Nickelodeon shows are getting a mix-up on Netflix (in the US). Two fan-favorites are getting an older season re-added, while another show is set to leave entirely.
iCarly, starring Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy, has now been back on Netflix in 2021, although it got a season shakeup in 2023. The same also applies to Henry Danger getting a similar shake-up with the caveat that Netflix also bagged the rights to the follow-up series, Danger Force. Much like NCIS, which lost its earlier seasons and was later re-added, that’s now happening with these two Nickelodeon shows with the first season of each coming back.
These early seasons are scheduled to touchdown on Netflix (in the United States) on March 31st, 2025. Even with season 1 returning, Netflix will still be missing some seasons.
For Henry Danger, Netflix will stream seasons 1, 4, and 5, while seasons 2 and 3 will only be available on Paramount+ for the foreseeable future.

For anyone growing up in the 2000s, Jennette McCurdy was a big part of their childhood. She played Sam Puckett, a rough and tumble girl with a spunky attitude, on the Nickelodeon sitcom "iCarly." The high-energy, candy-colored show follows a group of teenagers who find fame on a prank web series. "iCarly" ran from 2007 to 2012 and was followed by the spin-off and "Victorious" crossover, "Sam & Cat," where McCurdy starred alongside Ariana Grande (now an Oscar nominee for her role in the movie adaptation of "Wicked") as the series' namesakes. Their characters were like oil and vinegar, with Sam's toughness rubbing up against Cat's sweet, ditzy nature. The series was short-lived, though, and only ran from 2013 to 2014.
In 2021, "iCarly" was resurrected on Paramount+. The revival ran for three seasons and focused on an adult Carly, now a neurotic 20-something and social media influencer. Critics were keen on the reboot, with...

The Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious is getting a spinoff series featuring one original star. The news comes after the original show ended its run on Nickelodeon 12 years ago.
Originally, Victorious ran for four seasons between 2010 and 2013. Per Deadline, it now has a second spinoff in development with Daniella Monet set to reprise her role as Trina Vega. The project is in development under the working title Hollywood Arts, which could end up changing. Casting is now said to be underway to find co-stars for Monet, and as of now, no other cast members from Victorious are reported as being involved. “Victorious” has another spinoff in the works, with Daniella Monet set to reprise her role as Trina Vega in a multi-cam Nickelodeon comedy with the working title “Hollywood Arts,” Variety has confirmed.
The series, which is in development and has not yet been greenlit, will follow Trina as she returns to her old stomping grounds to teach students at the fictional Los Angeles performing arts high school. It would mark the second spinoff of “Victorious,” following “Sam & Cat,” starring Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande.
Casting is underway for the spinoff, and it’s unclear whether any other “Victorious” stars — including Victoria Justice — will reprise their roles in “Hollywood Arts.”
Monet, who starred in all four seasons of “Victorious” as the older sister to Justice’s Tori Vega, will executive produce the spinoff alongside Jake Farrow (who was a writer-producer on “Victorious” and “Sam & Cat”) and Samantha Martin.

Exclusive: The Victorious universe is eying further expansion with a second spinoff series, Hollywood Arts (working title). Starring Daniella Monet, who will reprise her role as Trina Vega, the multi-camera comedy is in fast-track development at Nickelodeon, with early casting getting underway, sources tell Deadline.
Produced by Nickelodeon, Hollywood Arts follows Trina returning to her old stomping grounds as the newest teacher at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school.
Monet serves as an executive producer alongside writers/executive producers Jake Farrow — who was a writer-producer on both Victorious and offshoot Sam & Cat and also voiced Robbie’s puppet Rex Powers on Victorious — and Samantha Martin (Nick’s Henry Danger and The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder).
Victorious creator Dan Schneider, who parted ways with Nickelodeon in 2018, has no involvement in the spinoff. His Nick tenure has been under scrutiny, including in the docuseries Quiet On Set whose producers he is suing for defamation.

Nickelodeon has been a staple of children's television since the late 1970s, with iconic cartoons and live-action shows that have entertained kids and teens for generations. And with these live-action shows, many teen actors started their careers in the industry. Shows like Clarissa Explains It All or iCarly have earned a place in fans' hearts, and some of these actors became incredibly successful afterward.
While a few of these actors have struggled to find success after their time on Nickelodeon, others have thrived in the industry. These celebrities who have managed to achieve new levels of fame are easily recognizable. Some may have forged a different path outside of Nickelodeon, making a name for themselves within the music industry or with talented work behind the scenes.

Taylor Swift was the most streamed artist globally on Spotify in 2024, while Joe Rogan and Alex Cooper topped the platform’s podcast charts.
This is the fifth consecutive year The Joe Rogan Experience has been the top podcast on Spotify and comes after he interviewed former President Donald Trump on his show leading up to the election. Cooper, who hosts Call Her Daddy, interviewed Vice President Kamala Harris on her show and took the second place slot for the second year in a row.
Notably, the two podcasts still topped the list after Spotify ceded exclusivity of both titles. The top five podcasts globally also included Huberman Lab and This Past Weekend w/Theo Von in the third and fourth spots and The Diary of A CEO with Steven Bartlett, a British video podcast, in the fifth spot.

Miranda Cosgrove has assured fans that iCarly won't be ending on a cliffhanger. Despite reviving the Nickelodeon series in 2020, Paramount+ canceled the show after just three seasons - right after hinting at a reveal of Carly's mother.
The original show ran for 6 seasons between 2007 and 2012, and followed the antics of Carly Shay (Cosgrove), Freddie Benson (Nathan Cress) and Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) as they hosted a popular web show. The reboot takes place 10 years after the original series, catering to iCarly's now-grown audience by exploring more mature themes and incorporating less of a slapstick-driven sense of humor. The revival followed Carly as she reunited with Freddie and her brother, Spencer (Jerry Trainor), to relaunch their web show.

Being a celebrity is no joke, and while some adults have problems with handling wealth and fame, several child stars had to deal with so much pressure at a much earlier age.
Child actors have been known to have very tough lives outside of the lighthearted shows they’ve been on, and their transition to adulthood is usually paved with all kinds of mistakes made public because of their status.

Miranda Cosgrove just revealed there’s more to come in the world of “iCarly” a year after the reboot was cancelled.
“So, I’m not allowed to 100 percent confirm anything yet, but I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works,” the actress shared during a Tuesday guest appearance on “The Talk.”
When CBS co-host Natalie Morales asked if the follow-up would be centered on her character and if “old favorites” would be back, Cosgrove immediately said, “Yes!” However, while the actress did not say if this installment will be a movie … she did smile and play coy.
“We actually ended the revival on a cliffhanger and we’re going to wrap that up,” she noted.
