The world’s most respected film festival showcase of new horror, science fiction, and fantasy films directed by women, Etheria Film Festival, announces its 2025 Official Showcase Lineup. The annual festivities will kick off with a live event in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Screenland Armour Theater with filmmakers and special guests in person for an onstage Q&a, followed by an official afterparty.

Filmmaker Guinevere Turner will receive the 2025 Etheria Inspiration Award from special guest presenter/filmmaker Jane Clark (Crazy Bitches) in person at the event. Turner is a writer, director, and actor who has been working in film and TV since her 1994 debut film Go Fish, which she wrote, produced, and starred in. She teamed up with director Mary Harron to write the films American Psycho, The Notorious Bettie Page, and the 2019 film Charlie Says. She was a writer and story editor on Showtime’s The L Word,...
