The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Chance Deserves Recognition – Off-Screen Memorials for Cole and Damian Spark Backlash
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) and Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) recently died. Cole succumbed to Legionnaires’ Disease, and Damian was murdered.

The character Peck played was revived as part of a write-out. Considering the length of Peck’s stay in the cast during his first stint and the fact that his persona originally appeared as a baby in the 1980s, a question must be asked. Why wasn’t Cole memorialized?

Damian was a new character who first appeared earlier this year, with a significant amount of detail about his life offered since then. But it appears that Rivers’ character was used to...

What Happened to Chance’s Funeral? Y&r Fans Are Not Happy
Image
Chance’s death remains a hot topic within The Young and the Restless community. Fans are still upset that the show killed off the Genoa City detective. But their anger has increased in the aftermath of Chance’s passing.

Disrespect For Chance

It’s been two weeks since Chance’s (Conner Floyd) death. The detective was gunned down by Carter (Vincent Stalba) during a showdown at Cane’s (Billy Flynn) chateau. With Chance, a legacy character and a well-respected member of Genoa City, one would assume there’d be a big memorial for him.

Well, there was, but just not onscreen.

On the August 14th episode, Christine (Lauralee Bell) revealed details about Chance’s offscreen funeral. According to what was said, Chance’s memorial took place in Los Angeles, where his mother, Nina (Tricia Cast), now lives. Chance’s grandmother, Jill (Jess Walton), was among the guests at the service.

Y&r Kills Off Another Character, Who Will Be Next?
Image
The Young And The Restless spoilers reveal that the writers have had no issues killing off characters lately. Unfortunately, it seems that they are not done yet. Who are the writers planning to get rid of next?

Damien Kane’s Time Was Cut Short

Damien Kane (Jermain Rivers) had barely had time to reconnect with his mother and meet his brother when he was killed off.

Damien had just gone to work for the Winters family when he choice to go to Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) chateau. This was a mistake that Damien didn’t get the chance to regret.

Damien was killed by Cane’s right hand man, Carter (Vincent Stalba), who thought he was a romantic rival and stabbed him.

While trying to stop Carter, Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) was shot and died almost immediately before Carter ran away and took his own life. However, it seems...

The Young and The Restless Spoilers: Jill Returns, Confronts Billy for Using Chance’s Tragedy to Boost His Career
Image
The Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers tease that Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will return for Chance Chancellor’s (Connor Floyd) memorial service. She wants to pay her respects to her grandson, and she has a few choice words to tell her son, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).

Billy has made some questionable decisions in the past few months. She won’t be happy with Billy’s choice to align with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), especially considering that Chance’s murder was connected to Cane.

Jill Returns To Genoa City

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Jill will return to Genoa City for Chance’s memorial service. Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will likely return to mourn the profound loss. Jill won’t understand how this could happen.

This Character Should Return and Take Over as Y&r’s New Detective
Image
The Young and the Restless is in need of a new detective. After the shocking and tragic death of Chance, many are wondering who’ll be in charge of the Gcpd. Well, a certain past character should return and take charge over the precinct.

Genoa City’s Finest

Many leading characters have had the honor of being Genoa City’s top detective. Paul (Doug Davidson) is the most famous and he kept the town safe for decades until his retirement and departure. Then there was Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), who sadly passed away in 2022.

Most recently, Chance (Conner Floyd) was the town’s lead detective. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in France when Chance was shot dead by Carter (Vincent Stalba). Chance’s death has sent shockwaves across Genoa City as his friends and family mourn their loss.

The big question on some fans’ mind is who will be Genoa City’s new detective.

Jill’s Return to ‘Young & Restless’ Brings Trouble: Billy Refuses to Give Her Answers, Puts Cane in the Middle
Image
The Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers tease that tense drama is ahead on the CBS soap opera. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) refuses to tell his mother, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), about Chance Chancellor’s (Connor Floyd) murder.

He knows that his mother will come unglued. More than his mother’s reaction, he fears how Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) will react to the news.

Billy will ask Cane to call his mother to deliver the crushing blow. Y&r spoilers state that Cane hasn’t talked to Jill in quite a while, so the viewers can expect the phone call to be awkward to say the least.

Billy Refuses To Call His Mom

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Billy refuses to notify Jill that Chance has been murdered by Carter (Vincent Stalba).

Billy fears his mother’s reaction and doesn’t want her to blame him in any way.

Which Recent Y&r Death Was the Most Difficult?
Image
The grim reaper has made several recent visits on The Young and the Restless. In July, three deaths occurred, leaving fans in shock. While it’s always sad to see a character go, this death may be the hardest.

Who Recently Died On Y&R?

The Y&r death toll started on July 3 with Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) passing. The writer had been battling health issues, which led to his hospitalization. Despite trying to remain optimistic, Cole knew his time was ending. He shared a sweet and final goodbye with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) before succumbing to his illness.

Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was the next character to bite the big one. He was drinking whiskey and talking with Cane (Billy Flynn) when he was killed by a knife to the back. Damian was the first casualty of the France trip, launching a murder mystery.

Y&r’s Chance Is Dead, But Actor Conner Floyd Deserved Better
Image
Chance Chancellor went out a hero on The Young and the Restless, risking his own life to save Cane and taking a bullet while struggling with Carter for his gun. In the process, the Genoa City cop is dead, but actor Conner Floyd deserved better.

Chance: Always on the Sidelines

Floyd, who’d played Chance since 2021, was one of many in a long revolving door of actors hired to play the good guy character. After taking over the role, he had a succession of stop-and-start storylines, the show never quite figuring out how to use him to his full potential.

During Floyd’s time on Y&R, Chance spent most of his time on the sidelines, only being brought to the forefront when there was a crime to solve. He was on the scene to investigate Phyllis’ (Michelle Stafford) “death,” Heather’s (Vail Bloom) murder, and, lastly, Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) horrific demise.

Y&r’s Risky Moves: Why Did Damian, Cole & Chance Meet Such Fates?
Image
On the July 29 episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily called Nate to tell him that Damian was dead. Nate wanted to know how… and he wanted to know why. We want to know why, too. And not just about Damian. We want to know why about Cole and Chance, too.

Damian’s Buildup

Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was brought on with such a massive buildup. For weeks, all we heard was “Damian, Damian, Damian.” We even got a fake Damian fake-out with Holden (Nathan Owens).

And then we finally met him. And then he finally reunited with his mother, Amy (Valarie Pettiford). And then he met his new brother, Nate (Sean Dominic). And then he started a fledgling romance with Lily (Christel Khalil).

We realize that things happen randomly in real life, but they do not happen randomly in fiction. If this was the plan all along, we have...

Lauralee Bell Talks About Being Cast On ‘The Young And The Restless’ – Exclusive
Image
In the latest episode of “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart,” Lauralee Bell from “The Young and the Restless” discusses how she landed the role of ingenue Christine Blair on the daytime drama series created by her parents, the late William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell.

“This was never an intention for my family,” says Bell of her joining the show’s cast in an exclusive clip obtained by Soap Opera Network. “My mom wanted me to be a Northwestern Tridelt and go to school. We were living in Chicago, so we were very separated from this … I was a fan, so I would watch, and [my father] would be like, ‘One day you should come and really kind of get a sense of what this is all about.’ I first did an extra part on an airplane with David Hasselhoff [Snapper Foster], and after it was over, I was like,...

Will Abby Take Advantage of Chance Tragedy After July 28 Young and the Restless?
Image
Chance died on the July 28 episode of The Young and the Restless. We’re not sure why. The character already had nothing to do. Couldn’t he have continued doing nothing off-screen, and Nina wouldn’t have had to lose another child, while Jill could have stayed focused on her health? Guess not. We sure hope there was a good story reason for his demise. Could it have been a means to give Abby something to do?

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Abby (Melissa Ordway) is an Abbot, a Newman, and a Chancellor (kind of). So why is she never a key player in all the corporate drama? What if Chance’s (Conner Floyd) death is the thing that puts her straight in the center of the action? Not for herself, but for her son, Dominic.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Nina and Jill Shaken By Chance’s Death – Phillip Returns For The Funeral?
Image
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) death has profound implications on both sides of the screen.

Floyd recorded his last scene in the fictional town of Genoa City, Wisconsin, and is already working in his new fictional setting of Salem, Illinois, on Days of our Lives, where he recently assumed the role that Billy Flynn (Chad Dimera on Days and now the recast Cane Ashby) held since 2014.

Devoted audience members of one or both shows were aware of the unusual nature of Cane asking Chance to protect him at his estate in the South of France.

Viewers appreciated the coolness of seeing Floyd work with Flynn, who he was replacing on Days. Fans also knew that Chance was either not long for Y&r’s world, with that character either being written off, recast, or killed off.

One of the immediate effects of...

3 Young and the Restless Characters Who Should Return in 2025
Image
The Young and the Restless characters come and go in Genoa City. When someone leaves the Wisconsin town, it doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. Y&r surprised fans this year with unexpected character returns. As 2025 nears, here are a few familiar faces we’d love to see.

Genoa City’s Newest Detective

The Genoa City police department needs more help, with Paul (Doug Davidson) retired and Chance’s (Conner Floyd) questionable detective skills. Who better to clean up the crime than Ronan Malloy (Jeff Branson)?

Ronan is Nina’s (Tricia Cast) and Chance’s half-brother. He was a central character on Y&r from 2010 to 2012. While the detective did a great job protecting Genoa City, his personal life was messy because of failed romances with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).

Ronan’s return would give Genoa City another detective and cause conflict with Chance. As for Ronan’s love life,...

‘The Young And The Restless’ at 50: Star Lauralee Bell Reflects On Her Dad’s Legacy, And The Future Of The CBS Soap
Image
On Sunday, The Young and the Restless will officially celebrate 50 years on CBS. For star Lauralee Bell, it’s more than just a celebration; it’s a tribute to the work of her dad William J. Bell, who created the No. 1 daytime drama with his wife, Lee, in 1973.

It’s also a heady reminder that Bell — along with her brother Bradley, who’s the head writer on The Bold and the Beautiful — is one of daytime’s most important stewards. “We’re representing dad in such big way,” said Bell of her father, who died in 2005. Her mom passed in 2020. “I was getting ready to do an interview the other day and out of nowhere this huge, overwhelming feeling came over me. I wondered, did dad ever consider that he wouldn’t be here at one point and did it make him feel a little bit better knowing that Brad and I were all in?...

Sally Spectra’s brutal firing from the fictional Newman Media may be nothing compared to the real-life pink slips just handed out in the writing department at CBS’s top-rated daytime drama “The Young and the Restless.”

Co-executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith has sacked all five writers that comprised the show’s breakdown writing staff, multiple individuals with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.

According to one insider, Griffith said eliminating the breakdown writing staff — those writers responsible for mapping out story lines across multiple episodes — is a cost-cutting move, and that he will take on the task of writing breakdowns himself.

“The timing of the firings is suspect given that WGA negotiations were coming up and the show is celebrating a major milestone with its 50th anniversary,” the individual said. “Even more brutal is that four of the five writers of the breakdown staff are all women,...
