An original Blue Bloods cast member is set to join Donnie Wahlberg’s Boston Blue.

While we might not get to see the Reagan family together every episode, fans will get to see a familiar face in the form of Erin Reagan, played by Bridget Moynahan. Deadline reports that Danny’s sister will be joining her brother in his new home in Boston, although it may be temporary. She will appear in the premiere episode, and Moynahan is also going to direct an episode at some point during the season.

Wahlberg announced the news on his Instagram, sharing a photo with his television sister, who he worked alongside for 14 seasons. It will be a nice treat for fans who have wanted to see members of the cast appear in Boston Blue as well.

Donnie Wahlberg is no longer the only Blue Bloods actor set to appear on Boston Blue. The Danny Reagan actor recently confirmed the return of another Blue Bloods alum in a behind-the-scenes image from the set of the upcoming CBS spinoff.

In an Instagram post, Wahlberg shared a photo with his former Blue Bloods co-star Bridget Moynahan to announce that she would be reprising her role as Danny's sister, Erin Reagan, in the series premiere of Boston Blue. Bridget Moynahan has officially signed on to reprise her role as Erin Reagan in the premiere episode of Boston Blue, making her the first Blue Bloods veteran confirmed to be returning for the spin-off. Wahlberg confirmed the news himself on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself and Moynahan together on the Toronto-based set. In addition to helping ease viewers into the new show when it begins on October 17, she's also slated to direct an episode of the CBS series sometime in its first season.
