Earlier today, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios shared a first official look at Tom Holland's new suit for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Well, minus the mask (that's a surprise which is likely being saved for tomorrow). 

The design has been given a thumbs up from most fans as the McU's Peter Parker is finally brought more in line with his comic book counterpart.

On Saturday morning, Sony posted a video of Tom Holland warming up and then walking up to the camera in his new Spider-Man costume, saying, “We ready?” A teaser of the costume was posted on Friday.

This time around, the new suit shows a larger spider on his chest than his previous costumes in the films Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home and No Way Home. It’s also worth noting that the Spidey suit looks more similar to Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s suits in their respective Spider-Man films.

Also on Saturday, videos posted online revealed that Holland’s fourth-leading film has begun filming in England. In 2021’s No Way Home, viewers saw Spider-Man’s real identity as Peter Parker was erased from people’s memory, so now even his girlfriend, Mj (Zendaya) and best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) don’t remember him.

Previously, Sony teased a look at the new Spidey suit for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Today, Tom Holland showed off the suit in a short 17-second clip.

Aug. 1 has just become a notable moment for the Spider-Man fandom. New signage has revealed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin filming that day in Glasgow, Scotland.

An X user recently shared some photos of Bothwell Street in Glasgow, which has received new signage warning pedestrians that the road will be closed from Aug. 1 to Aug. 9, 2025, as "a feature film will be shot down Bothwell Street." Paramount+ is at it again with more movies added to their library, and we’re back again with the titles we think you should tune into first.

Truly, the platform is bringing in some heavy hitters, including the movie that features one of Denzel Washington’s most iconic performances and the film adaptation of Truman Capote’s popular novel “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” This month, Paramount+ is offering some of cinema’s most popular flicks, as well as some films that spawned from popular TV shows.

When you think of Sam Raimi, it's common for one of two things to pop up in your head: the Spider-Man franchise starring Tobey Maguire (Babylon) and Kirsten Dunst (Civil War) or the Evil Dead horror movies led by Bruce Campbell(Hysteria!). Raimi and star Tobey Maguire had promised a fourth movie, Spider-Man 3 felt like it had been made by people who were no longer terribly engaged with the web-slinging hero. So it wasn’t a huge surprise when Sony pulled the plug on Spider-Man 4, opting instead to reboot the character in 2012 with director Marc Webb and star Andrew Garfield.

We recently learned that the original Spider-Man trilogy will swing back into theaters later this year, courtesy of Fathom Entertainment. This comes just over a year after Sony Pictures re-released all the web-slinger's movies to celebrate Columbia Pictures' 100th anniversary.

As amazing as it will be to get another chance to see Sam Raimi's iconic trilogy on the big screen, the most spectacular part of these plans is the fact that we're getting a 4K version of Spider-Man 2.1, the extended cut of the 2004 movie. Released on DVD in 2007, the cut included an additional eight minutes of never-before-seen footage and is widely considered the definitive version of Spider-Man 2.

Tom Holland was in London last week his inaugural Bero Padel Classic, a tournament partnered with the “Spider-Man” actor’s non-alcoholic beer brand. While in London, Holland spoke with “Flip Your Wig” about filming for his upcoming film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” In the interview, Holland shared that the upcoming Spidey adventure will bring the web-slinger off of sound stages and back into the real world.

Despite being a bright, hopeful adaptation of the DC superhero, James Gunn’s Superman isn’t devoid of heartbreaking death scenes. Now, you might think of it as collateral damage, which is common in most superhero films. But this scene carried more emotional weight than most superhero deaths we’ve seen in the past decade. Why? Because Malik “Mali” Ali previously had a crucial role in Superman’s life. And just like that, with both scenes, Gunn proved that he isn’t just rebooting Superman; he’s restoring the heart of the genre.

How? By dropping a spiritual nod to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, where New Yorkers similarly stood up for their friendly neighborhood hero.

James Gunn's "Superman" is currently soaring to impressive box office heights, now that it's opened in theaters worldwide. The film, which is the first big-screen entry in the newly launched DC Universe, is a much-needed victory for the DC Comics brand in theaters, after a decade filled with a select few highs and constant lows. The public's perception of Superman as a character has become warped in the current century. Many have dismissed him as outdated and boring, hence Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns" (starring Brandon Routh as Superman) failing to take off. On the other end, the deconstructionist, darker take on the character featured in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" (starring Henry Cavill as the titular hero) for sure had its fans, but it alienated many folks with its boldly different interpretation of Kal-El.

Superhero movies may not be known for their incredible attention to real-world logic and science, but it seems that Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 surpassed expectations with its iconic train scene, which has gained high praise from an expert on the subject of superhero science. Jim Kakalios recently shared his views on several superhero scenes to assess their realism and accuracy, and he is in the perfect place to do so, having written a book, “The Physics of Superheroes,” and consulted on several comic book movies, including Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man.

In a video by Insider, Kakalios watched the scene in which Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man uses his strength and web-slingers to prevent a speeding train ending up as a mangled mess of metal and bodies. It seems that the scene could not be much better than it plays out, as he explained:
