Ultimately, Carter handed the company back to its rightful owners, and he’s back to working as Forrester’s legal aide. As for Lawrence Saint-Victor, his acting career is on the rise. Lifetime will tear through three “Ripped From the Headlines” films this September.

The network has set consecutive debuts for Saturdays in September for (working title) A Husband to Die For: The Lisa Aguilar Story starring Keana Lyn Bastidas, Jon McLaren and veteran star Marilu Henner on Sept. 13; The Girl Who Survived: The Alina Thompson starring Sam Trammell, Ashley Jones, Brielle Robillard and Steve Byers on Sept. 20; and I Was a Child Bride: the Courtney Stodden Story starring Holly J. Barrett as Stodden, Doug Savant as her actor husband Doug Hutchinson, and Maggie Lawson as Stodden’s mother, Krista, on Sept. 27.

Joy Behar’s stage comedy My First Ex-Husband will play its final Off Broadway performance May 18, producers announced today, with a national tour set to begin this summer.

The play, which features a rotating cast that has included Behar, Susie Essman, Tovah Feldshuh, Adrienne C. Moore, Susan Lucci and others, opened in January at the new Mmac Theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Behar recently announced that she will return to the comedy for three upcoming performances including an April 30 matinee that will costar her View fellow panelist Whoopi Goldberg.

The current cast, performing through April 20, features Veanne Cox, Jackie Hoffman, Carolyn McCormick, and Andrea Navedo. Beginning April 23, the final New York cast will be Marilu Henner, Marsha Mason, Julia Sweeney and Fat Ham‘s Benja K. Thomas.

Casting, dates and venues have not been announced for the national tour.

The View costars Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar will soon share a stage of an entirely different sort: Goldberg will appear for one performance only with Behar in the latter’s Off Broadway comedic play My First Ex-Husband.

Behar announced the team-up on her Instagram account, captioning a photo of the two, “The reunion we’ve been waiting for!”

The matinee performance is set for Wednesday, April 30, at 2 p.m./Et. The play, which features a rotating cast of actresses as directed by Randal Myler, is staged at the newly renovated Mmac Theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

The play’s official synopsis: “If half of all marriages end in divorce, then in My First Ex-Husband, women live to laugh about it….In the world of the play, you’ll meet women married to the mob, to their jobs, to their faith, to money and ultimately to the wrong man.

Michael Schlesinger, a renowned repertory executive who worked at United Artists Classics, Paramount and Sony Repertory, died Jan. 9. He was 74.

Schlesinger died at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a rare form of cancer.

Schlesinger was known for being instrumental in restoring and releasing classic films over multiple decades. While working at Sony Repertory as vice president, he oversaw the 70mm restoration of “Lawrence of Arabia.” When he was at Paramount Pictures Distribution, he worked on the 50th anniversary release of “Citizen Kane,” which included Orson Welles’ famously incomplete “It’s All True.”

Joseph McBride, an author and film historian and friend of Schlesinger’s, wrote in his tribute that “Mike was a true mensch. Every cinephile had a friend in Mike Schlesinger. He was passionate about preserving and distributing classic films. He stuck his neck out for film history while working for major studios...

Michael Schlesinger, who for more than 25 years worked as a studio repertory executive for divisions at United Artists, Paramount and Sony as a champion of film classics and forgotten B-movies alike, has died. He was 74.

Schlesinger died Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after a bout with cancer.

The popular Schlesinger was a fixture at screenings, lectures and events like the TCM Classic Film Festival and Cinecon in Los Angeles, where he conducted interviews. He also offered commentary for DVD releases of movies like Stanley Kramer’s It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), perhaps his favorite film, and for the website Trailers From Hell.

Hallmark+ has released the second of the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries prequel reboot. This one is called A Lesson In Murder. What is it about?

According to IMDb, Aurora teaches a true crime literature class at the local university. One night, she is supposed to help a student, but is shocked to find him dead!

Exclusive: Acquisition news out today will have comedy fans giving thanks — Thank You Very Much, the documentary about the late Andy Kaufman, has been picked up by Drafthouse Films.

The film directed by Emmy winner Alex Braverman is presented by Morgan Neville’s Tremolo Productions, Elara Pictures, and Jenifer Westphal’s Wavelength. The acquisition deal covers North American theatrical and digital rights; Drafthouse plans an early 2025 release in select cities, followed by a digital release on select streaming platforms. Thank You Very Much premiered at the 80th Venice Film Festival last year — where it won the Venice Classics Award for Best Documentary – followed by a U.S. premiere at the Telluride Film Festival.

Taxi, a beloved sitcom that aired from 1978-1982, featured a talented main cast including Danny DeVito and Christopher Lloyd. The show also included memorable guest stars like Tom Hanks and Ruth Gordon, all of whom contributed to its success. Deceased cast members like J. Alan Thomas, Jeff Conaway, and Marcia Wallace are deeply missed, but their impactful roles live on in Taxi's legacy.

The beloved sitcom Taxi aired its first episode over 45 years ago, back in 1978, and in the years since, a few cast members have passed away, including J. Alan Thomas. The series, which would run for five seasons and conclude in 1982, centered around a group of New York City taxi cab drivers and their obnoxious dispatcher. Several of the main cast became huge stars, including Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, and Marilu Henner. An acclaimed series, Taxi won the Emmy for Best Comedy Series for its first three seasons.

Aurora Teagarden Mystery fans were more than disappointed when Candace Cameron Bure jumped shipped from Hallmark to Great American Family (Gaf), as it meant the series was not returning.

Samuels was recently interviewed by Us Magazine about a new movie, My Dreams Of You. Of course, the conversation turned very quickly to her role in Aurora Teagarden: Something New.

When Candace Cameron Bure defected to Great American Family, it left Aurora Teagarden Mystery fans disappointed. The series was not coming back.

However, a year later, Hallmark Mystery rebooted the series with a prequel movie that starred Skyler Samuels, Marilu Henner, and Evan Roderick, as Arthur. This movie was called Something New.

However, that prequel reboot premiered in 2023. Will Hallmark make any more of these mysteries in this series?

When the Hallmark Channel approached Skyler Samuels to star in a reboot prequel of the hit mystery Aurora Teagarden, she admitted she was a “little nervous.” Speaking to US Magazine, she admitted some apprehension when taking on this iconic Candace Cameron Bure role. Most of all, she was not expecting this offer.

It was definitely a surprise role when they came to me with the Aurora reboot.

As Countdown To Christmas is fast approaching in mid-October, it means that the newly branded Hallmark Mystery has only a few more premiere announcements in 2024. Most of all, Sleuthers want to know which single-episode mysteries will get sequels.

Richard M. Sherman, two-time Oscar winner who collaborated with brother Robert B. The classic sitcom "Taxi" has its fair share of interesting characters that work in New York City's Sunshine Cab Company, but arguably the tender heart at its center is boxer Tony Banta, played by Tony Danza. He's not always the brightest crayon in the box, but he's full of courage and love and would do just about anything for his friends. Despite being a bit of a womanizer early on, he's never cruel or lecherous like his boss Louie (Danny DeVito), and he is a fantastic friend to his co-worker Elaine (Marilu Henner). He's also surprisingly sweet despite his punchy side gig, serving as the template for later sitcom characters like Joey from "Friends." It's truly hard to imagine "Taxi" without him.

What's even harder to imagine is the character of Tony being played by anybody else. He's warm and earnest and bounces off great against some of the more cynical comedians on the cast.

It took a savvy comedy fan to know what Andy Kaufman was doing with his career. More than a mere funnyman, Kaufman tended to satirize the trappings of standup comedy, often using his routines to play pranks on the audience. As detailed in Miloš Forman's 1999 biopic "Man on the Moon," Kaufman wanted to host a TV special that contained artificial signal "static" in the hope that viewers would get up out of their seats and whack their "broken" TV sets. That's not funny for the audience, but it's certainly funny for Kaufman.

Part of Kaufman's satirical act was a whole separate stage persona named Tony Clifton, a foul-mouthed, alcoholic lounge singer who cussed and behaved badly. Clifton was also occasionally played by Kaufman's close friend and associate Bob Zmuda, allowing Clifton and Kaufman to occasionally appear in the same room, calling the reality of the character into question. Ariana Madix, the Vanderpump Rules reality star who made it to last night’s finale round as a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, will make her Broadway debut in January as Roxie Hart in Chicago, producers announced today.
