"It's just how we do things on the Bayou..." Paramount + Epix have revealed an official trailer for a thriller titled A House on the Bayou, from filmmaker Alex McAulay. Produced by Blumhouse Television, this is debuting directly on Epix starting in November. The film follows a troubled couple and their daughter who go on vacation to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou to reconnect as a family. But when unexpected visitors arrive, the unity starts to unravel. Suspiciously friendly neighbors show up for dinner uninvited, and soon the weekend takes a sinister turn as dark secrets come to light. The film stars Angela Sarafyan, Paul Schneider, Lia McHugh, Jacob Lofland, and Doug Van Liew. It looks like another creepy Americana thriller with plenty of twists and turns as the truth comes out about this family and all the weirdos around. Epix and Blumhouse have set premiere dates for two films from their original TV movie slate. A House on the Bayou will surface on November 19, and American Refugee arrives December 10.

The pics also will be available day-and-date on PVOD via Paramount Home Entertainment.

A House on the Bayou follows a family getaway to a remote mansion in rural Louisiana. In an effort to reconnect and mend their relationship, Jessica and John Chambers (Angela Sarafyan and Paul Schneider) seek an idyllic vacation with their daughter Anna (Lia McHugh). When suspiciously friendly neighbors (Jacob Lofland and Doug Van Liew) show up for dinner uninvited, the weekend takes a sinister turn as the fragile family bond is tested and dark secrets come to light.

“A House on the Bayou,” the first straight-to-service movie in a new deal between Blumhouse and Epix, has found its three lead stars.

Paul Schneider (“Tales from the Loop”), Angela Sarafyan (“Westworld”), and Jacob Lofland (“Maze Runner”) will lead the cast on the project, which has already begun production in New Orleans.

Alex McAulay (‘Don’t Tell a Soul”) serves as writer and director on the film, which follows a troubled couple (Schneider and Sarafyan) who take a vacation to an isolated house in the Louisiana bayou to reconnect as a family. Their teenage daughter will be played by the young star of Marvel’s “The Eternals,” Lia McHugh. When unexpected visitors arrive, their facade of family unity starts to unravel, as terrifying secrets come to light.

Additional cast includes Lofland in a key role, as well as Doug Van Liew (“Ida Red”) and Lauren Richards (“Doom Patrol”) in supporting roles.

Zombacter: Center City Contagion is a brilliantly camp film title. Let us just savour it for a moment before we dive in. A cold opening brings us into some zombies running amuck, before a surprisingly competent CGI style opening titles piece takes us to “seven weeks earlier…” It is a trope that often irritates me. It is clearly a zombie film.. it is called Zombacter, can we not trust the viewer will stick with it long enough for the zombies to turn up.

Our scientist is using rabbits to develop an organic computer, which is a very cool idea for a film premise. It elaborates by saying this is via “genetically engineered bacteria” … which is even more brilliant.
