It's been a rough time being a Scooby-Doo fan. In the last couple of years, Warner Bros. has canceled the Scoob! sequel as a tax write-off, pulled some of the fan-favorite shows off HBO Max, and stopped producing the direct-to-video film series that helped introduce new generations of kids to the franchise for decades. However, the merchandise is still keeping the franchise alive with Scooby-Doo now taking over this classic board game.

Scooby-Doo has officially crossed over with Operation. This iconic game centers around players trying to peacefully take harmful inanimate objects out of a patient’s body. You need to have steady hands or else you're going to hit the edge of the opening. This makes your board buzz in one of the most anxiety-riddled sounds you'll ever hear. The Scooby-Doo version comes with a groovy twist. Instead of operating on a human, fans will be working on the Mystery Machine.

With the spooky season right around the corner, it’s time once again for horror fans to start planning their various genre marathons. You can't have one without an injection of horror comedy. The king of that sub-genre over the last six decades has been Scooby-Doo. Mystery Inc. has been part of pop culture since 1969 with a Coolsville full of groovy merchandise. Now, as fans wait for the next iteration of the franchise, Scooby-Doo gets a pair of new Funko Pops.

Scream has become one of the most iconic horror franchises of all time. Each movie is known for Ghostface, a masked killer who targets numerous unsuspecting people. The first movie came out in 1996, and there have since been six completed movies, with Scream 7 in development.

Two of the iconic characters from the original Scream movie are Billy and Stu. These characters are played by Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard, respectively. Billy and Stu are revealed to be the Ghostface killers and are killed by the end of the movie, and thus are not main characters in future films.

Both actors have continued to have active careers, but have not had a horror reunion in years. Lillard played Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies, whereas Ulrich's recent roles include parts in Supercell and Parish. Now, however, the pair of Scream actors get to reunite for another horror film.

Matthew Lillard contains multitudes. Across decades, the actor and entrepreneur has needled a distinct tattoo of himself onto the chest of popular culture. His boisterous character work in early films like Hackers, Scream, Slc Punk, and Serial Mom quickly left a permanent imprint on both genre and alternative cinema.

Yet, as his career turned the page toward more mainstream fare, it left no less of a cult residue for generations of weirdos. His perfect casting as Shaggy, the stoner-coded sweetheart of the Scooby-Doo franchise, remains a key figure in the zeitgeist. And Thirteen Ghosts, where he completely steals the show, is a stone-cold horror classic and an all-time personal favorite.

Now, with The Life of Chuck, Mike Flanagan’s latest theatrical adaptation of a Stephen King tale, Lillard embarks on yet another new chapter creatively. The film is a genre-bending story about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.

Who doesn’t love a good crossover? Some of audiences very favorite episodes are the ones where characters from an entirely different show pop up, like when two “ER” doctors showed up on “Friends,” when Sam and Dean got sucked into an episode of “Scooby-Doo,” or, most recently, when “9-1-1” LAPD sergeant Athena Grant took an unplanned cruise aboard the Odyssey.

Most of the time, these special episodes happen because they are on the same network, or are from the same producer, but sometimes they just happen because they are entertaining as hell … or the show’s creators are big fans of each other, as was the case with Quinta Brunson of “Abbott Elementary” and Rob McElhenney of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

We don’t really know where to start here as we have some exciting news for horror fans that involve two legends of the genre, one on-screen legend and one off-screen legend. So, get ready for some great information!

As for the off-screen figure, it’s Stephen King, whose Carrie is currently being adapted as a series for Amazon. This was a fact that has been known for some time now, and while we’ve already seen two adaptations of Carrie, another one won’t hurt.

But, who’s joining? Well, according to the latest – unconfirmed – information, horror legend Matthew Lillard is in talks to join the series!

After joining Prime Video's Cross for its second season, Matthew Lillard is sticking around the Amazon-owned streaming service for its upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie.

According to Deadline, Lillard has entered talks to join Carrie, although character details remain undisclosed at this time. If he does end up joining the hotly anticipated reboot, it would reunite him with Mike Flanagan, his director on the upcoming The Life of Chuck, which is coincidentally also based on a King story. Lillard's Carrie casting also comes roughly two months after he landed a recurring role in the second season of Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again.

While Lillard has worked steadily in Hollywood since 1990, the actor remains best known for two of his earliest roles — Stu Macher/Ghostface in Scream (1996) and Shaggy Rogers in Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). A generation of kids grew up watching Raja Gosnell's 2002 live-action comedy flick "Scooby-Doo," an adaptation of Hanna-Barbera's long-running Scooby-Doo cartoon shows from the 1970s. In the film, Freddy, originally voiced by Frank Welker, was played by Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Shaggy, originally voiced by Casey Kasem, was played by Matthew Lillard. Prinze was squarely in the public eye after starring in hit films like "She's All That" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer," while Lillard was famous for his turns in "Hackers," "Scream," and "Slc Punk!" Lillard, incidentally, was also in "She's All That." Both actors were very much their generation's "It" boys, and the decade proved to be very lucrative for them both. 

Well, "Wing Commander" notwithstanding. 

"Wing Commander" is not well-remembered by too many people. It was based on a series of 1990s "Wing Commander" video games created by Chris Roberts, who also directed the film.

These days, it feels like James Gunn is at the center of the universe. With an incredible run at Marvel Studios thanks to his acclaimed "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, Gunn has also made a name for himself in bringing some of the best film and television series based on DC Comics. His bold, abrasive, yet surprisingly sweet take on "The Suicide Squad" helped rehabilitate that series' brand reputation amongst audiences, and the sequel series "Peacemaker" is one of the few remnants of the now-defunct DC Extended Universe that will be implemented into the canon of the new Dcu, which Gunn himself is the creative spearhead of, thanks to his position as the co-chairman and co-ceo of DC Studios.

We can debate about whether or not James Gunn's plans for the canon of the new Dcu will confuse general audiences, but it is clear that based on his critical success...

Scooby-Doo has to be the hardest-working canine in Hollywood. That poor pup can’t catch a break, and it looks like the Great Dane is going to Netflix.

Seriously, though, there have been countless animated Scooby shows and countless movies. However, The Mystery Machine is getting the live-action treatment again.

Netflix is bringing Scooby-Doo into the real world for more hijinks with grumpy older men disguised as ghosts.

Daredevil isn't the only Born Again character receiving a comics-accurate suit in Season 2. New set photos have confirmed that Wilson Bethel's Bullseye will also be sporting a more comics-accurate costume next season.

Shared across the social media platform X, the new set photos feature Bethel back in the Bullseye costume seen in the Born Again series premiere. However, as pointed out by MCU Report, some subtle changes have been made to the suit. In addition to added texture, a faint bullseye can be spotted on the headpiece just above Bethel's eyes. While not as prominent (or white) as the one in the comics, it's still a noticeable improvement over the pseudo-Bullseye costume used in Season 1. Zoinks! The Scooby-Doo live-action series we first heard about last year is officially moving forward at Netflix, with Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg on board as writers and showrunners.

The eight-episode series will focus on the origins of the Mystery Inc. gang, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Freddy, and their first meeting with the loveable pooch of the title, who comes into their lives after witnessing a supernatural murder.

The official synopsis (via Toonado.com) reads: “During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.

It’s true, there are plans for a live-action series of Scooby-Doo. Netflix has just announced that a brand new series has been given the green light. We’ll be seeing Shaggy, Scooby-Doo, and all the gang on our screens again, but not as animated cartoons. This will be the first-ever series of the classic cartoon show to be made as a live-action TV series.

Sure, we’ve had some movies in that format over the years, with Scooby-Doo (2002), and the inevitable follow-up, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). Both scored big box office success, grossing a combined $430 million worldwide. And we've had a couple of TV movies with Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins (2009) and its sequel, Scooby-Doo! Marvel Television is finally giving Charlie Cox's Daredevil suit the Dd chest emblem. New set photos from Daredevil: Born Again have emerged, revealing the new black suit that the Man Without Fear will don in the upcoming Season 2.

Shared on X by MCU Report, the six Born Again Season 2 set photos feature Cox's Matt Murdock in a variety of positions while suited up in the new black Daredevil suit. However, a closer look at the set photos seems to reveal that the Season 2 suit is actually the current red Daredevil suit spray-painted black, as bits of red can be seen poking through the black. The Dd chest emblem is also the same color red as the suit Murdock can be seen wearing in Season 1 of the Disney+ continuation. Check out the Season 2 set photos below.

The series, from Warner Bros. TV, creators Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg and executive producer Greg Berlanti, has been in the works for nearly a year.

Appelbaum and Rosenberg (Citadel, MGM+’s From) will serve as showrunners and executive produce via their Midnight Radio banner. First reported to be in development at Netflix in April 2024 with a script-to-series commitment, the show will delve into how Mystery Inc. and their beloved Great Dane first teamed up together.

As previously reported, Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as writers and showrunners and will also executive produce along with André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner under their Midnight Radio banner. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will executive produce via Berlanti productions. Warner Bros. Television will produce. Berlanti Productions is currently under an overall deal at Wbtv, with the studio controlling the rights to the Hanna-Barbera characters.

The musicians dropped “Til a Mawnin” last month. The track was written by Shaggy, Sting, and Henry “Junjo” Lawes, and was produced by Shaggy and Shane Hoosong. It re-imagines Lawes’ 1981 “I’m Not Getting Crazy” riddim, which has been the foundation for several classic reggae tunes.
