"Mame" opens on Broadway. Lanning plays the older Patrick Dennis and wins a Theatre World award for his Broadway debut. Lanning is also heard on the original cast recording on the Columbia Records label. He later toured with Angela Lansbury when she took the show on the road.
Has had a Broadway career spanning more than 30 years performing in 8 productions from the original production of "Mame" (Patrick Dennis, age 19-29) in 1966 continuing through the revival of "1776" (Rev. John Witherspoon) in 1997.
