I really tried to give this a go but casting the black woman as a viking leader in this is just too ridiculous and spoils the whole show. Its like watching a Korean period drama and they have an African as the emperor. Its just too ridiculous to get past as even though its fiction its supposed to depict a period and place in history. Might as well have aliens landing mid series. You don't have to 'diversify' everything as you really do spoil some things by doing this.

You can't compare this to original Vikings which even though took liberties with its historical accuracy didn't go crazy with it like this series has. Waste of effort by everyone involved.

I hardly give 10s but this series is worthy. I like how unabashedly gruesome it is with regard to how a vengeful person would behave, especially one that has seen and dealt a lot of violence as part of his job. Most movies/series nowadays try and suger coat how a person would behave and have him not go over the top when visiting violence upon his enemies but this one goes full on. Loved it!
