I was a big fan of Girls in the early episodes, but towards the end Dunham either ran out of ideas or was just burned out (or both). This series is NOT a stretch because the themes are very 'Girls-centric' - but nowhere near as charming. I'm new to seeing the main protagonist and I'm so relieved her character in this series is nothing like the woman I saw being interviewed recently on a popular late night comedy show (one of the most horrible displays of a young person I have seen in a very long time). There was immense potential with this cast, especially those in the first episode (which was VERY well done), but then the whole thing started to lose steam. If you don't have the time, patience, or energy to keep up and produce an inventive series - why bother?

There is no way to 'polish up' a divorce, no matter what others may tell you. You absolutely can divorce someone you still love but incompatibility can be an incredibly lonely feeling. This story is difficult to watch and was very well written and presented to show what it truly means to realize you deserve happiness and not just settle for one partner's desires. Feeling seen and being heard as a couple takes a lot of work... and it's not difficult (with the ever increasing divorce stats remaining quite high) to ascertain that being married is not for the weak. I loved the story because it REALLY shows two adults, trying desperately to be there for their child in-common, yet struggling with their own individual concerns, resentments and wants. Divorce is hard and should change you, hopefully you don't repeat destructive patterns with future partners. This film shows the true struggle of what that can look like for a lot of couples, especially those with children. Beautifully written, perfectly casted.

I'm not usually one for homie/quippy type action movies... but it's hard to argue you're going to get something decent when Cena and Elba are in it. And actually, the supporting cast is also well known and it was great to see them in this movie as well. I cannot say this is my favorite action/comedy film, but it was entertaining. Also not really a creative concept... but fun to watch all the same. Putting Cena and Elba together was a great combo for Suicide Squad of course; I can see them doing more in the future together because they play well off each other. Always a surprise (to me anyways) is Quaid. The more I watch him the more I really enjoy his talent. I've found myself seeking out films he's in. For me, I think he is far more talented than his father... but I was never a big Dennis Quaid fan.
