There's not a lot of family friendly horror movies. Most throw in nudity to try and grab a teenage audience. This is a fun little flick that isn't prude, but isn't R rated either. The premise is cool, a sister who never knew her older sibling gets thrown back in time. This is a lot of fun as it's not really a heavy SiFI film but gives just enough to make the story seem feasible. The teenage actors actually seem like teenagers, not 20 somethings acting like teens. The main female actress has a young Zendaya look. I could see this on the Disney channel just as easy as any of the Marvel films. My family enjoyed this with some fresh popcorn.
My opinion on the best way to watch this is to switch the audio over to Russian and read the subtitles.
This film could have been made about any county's hero pilot. There was no propaganda to this story. Based on the true story of a downed Russian pilot in German territory. The hero has to battle the elements, wild animals, oh, and the German Army that's after him. He reflects deeply as he goes through all of this as many of us would do if we believed we may not make it out alive. The period elements of the time are spot on. Hard to believe that the U. S. now has a strong friendship with Germany and are at tension with Russia. I was rooting for this guy just as much as I was watching Enemy At The Gates.

I was sitting alone in my grief from just experiencing my first Christmas since the loss of my older daughter, who passed suddenly without warning at tge age of 35 in January 2024. I was doom scrolling through available movies, looking for a lost blockbuster. I don't know why I decided to give The Forge a watch. Maybe just the hope for a better future through each one of us choosing to make a difference, even if just for one of us. Without exposing spoilers, there were surprising moments that resonated deeply. I am a Christian, but far from what the Lord wants me to be. This film speaks to people like me and people looking for a path.
