This series started well and I enjoyed the first few episodes.

Then the next episodes were just filler.

The ending is terrible. Don't bother watching.

The three stars are for the production values.

The lighting, the cinematography, and the sound are all top quality.

The writing started off good, but lost the plot.

No likeable characters.

The actors did a good job with what they had, but it fell short.

After the success of Kin, a BBC drama based on the drug wars in Dublin with two fueding brothers, This City is just a poor imitation.

Instead of two brothers, they have the heir to the throne pitched against the organised crime boss's number two.

Watch Kin, it's far better.

I started out hoping this might be firstly entertaining and secondly give me a little bit of a history lesson.

I struggle to understand how Oliver Stone made such rubbish, and he co-wrote it.

There's not a single character that I could get involved with.

The cast of stars were paid fortunes and the producers just thought the viewers are going to pay to see them.

The acting is ok, considering the script.

The sets are good and the cinematography is colourful.

I wouldn't recommend it. An hour in and I'm writing this review.

Well filmed, great production values, but ultimately CRAP.

Carey Mulligan is superb.

Script tried to have an enigmatic man who was quiet and brooding, but he was just a medium to tell the story and I didn't care for him at all.

I wanted to like him for his selfless actions but there was no explanation to why.
