First time use of new anti aging computer features on actors to portray decades of time span passage.
Acting top flight GoofIn the "Irishman", about a half an hour from the end of the movie ( 2 hours and 40 and 2 hours and 45 minutes into movie) there are two aerial camera shots , respectively, looking down to an intersection from above the utility lines where the shooters of Jimmy Hoffa passed by twice. Jimmy Hoffa disappeared in 1975 and the cable tv on those poles ( as evidenced by the unique CATV "alley way" installation feature) did not then exist in 1975 Detroit. Cable would not come to Detroit until starting 5 years later.

A well woven tale about human events and human nature, the later more guiding the world than the former. Robert Rrdford directs and plays the protaganists. Good performances by all, well acted, believable more of the action genre though than well spun dramatic suspense. Many reminders of Robert Redford in 3 Days of the Condor made 40 years prior- truth revealed but will it be told. Interesting point is that the final scence that Redford holds long on, of his character happily reunited with his daughter, highlights even to the dimmest viewer, like me, tgat Redford even appears don ge same style and color coat, if not actually the exact same coat that he did in the final scene of 3 Days of the Condor. Definitely worth watching, a good, plausible yarn that factors in the human element.- Jim Hagerty.
A very believable slice of life one night in 1961 for a group of young people coming of age. A lot of future stars including George Lucas. A number of concurrent intertwined plot lines that resemble real life within any group of people.
The soundtrack is not overbearing and lightly adds to the story as played through various different car radios of the kids. The older Milner is written well to show glimpses of his maturity over the pther younger people in the story.
Possible gaffe: "I can't take you when I'm racing somebody" line that Paul Lamot / John delivers to Terry the Toad just before the race appears to be dubbed in post shoot....it doesn't seem that his mouth is moving at all.
All in all , good movie that consistently maintains the theme of a snapshot of a transitional and pivotal single night.
Wolfman Jack put in a good strong contribution...who knew he could act so well. JIm Hagerty Westminster, md.
