Young Royals is one of the best coming-to-age shows I've ever seen in my life. It manages to convey so many emotions and it's impossible not to establish an emotional connection with it. The music, the characters, the atmosphere and the events enter your heart and never leave. The plot follows the story of Prince Wilhelm of Sweden, and his arrival at Hillerska boarding school. Wilhelm is the central character, whose story intertwines with that of Simon Eriksson, a classmate (only at the start) and apparently different from him, belonging to a different social class. The love story that develops between them is passionate, heartbreaking, intimate and ethereal. Wilhelm will eventually find himself having to make a decision, between what he has to do and what he wants to do in his life. The series deals with themes such as love, freedom, sexual identity, the desire to be accepted, social inequalities, autism, friendship and the royal sphere. All treated deeply and not superficially. The only flaw is definitely the brevity of the episodes. Last but not least, the chemistry between the two characters (and actors) is amazing, unbeatable. That's what makes the story so real I guess. There should be more series like this. 10/10.
This is one of the best Japanese dramas! The chemistry between Yuki Furukawa and Honoki Yahagi is remarkable. The story is funny, romantic, has some dramatic overtones, and has a coherent development. You can watch it multiple times and not get tired of it. The drama is the remake of the Itazura na Kiss series, based on the manga. A third season would not be bad at all. The characters are well-defined. Kotoko is bubbly, generous, and in love with Irie Naoki. Irie Naoki appears cold and distant, only to hide his feelings for Kotoko. Kin chan's role is crucial. Without him, the story would have progressed more slowly.
