  • Good but nothing will top the original

Spartacus is one of my all-time favorite shows so I've been looking forward to Spartacus: House of Ashur ever since I first heard about it. Now that's it's here I can say I'm not disappointed in the slightest. The only thing I would change is not having a 115lb female be the strongest gladiator. It's definitely not as good as Spartacus but it's still really good. It honors the legacy of the original series and has all the bloody action that made us so entertained. It's gotten nothing but great reviews as it currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I hope we get multiple seasons of this like we did with the original.

  • I Enjoyed It

I was not expecting Last Samurai Standing to be nearly as good as it was. I was expecting some cheesy action show where I can just turn my brain off and enjoy it. It's much more than that. It's a mix of Shogun, Battle Royale & Squid Game. The only negative is it's only six episodes long. There are plenty of characters and backstories that would've benefited from a longer season. Every episode has enough action and drama to entertain just about any action fan.

  • One of the best sci-fi series I've ever seen

I'm absolutely blown away by how much I enjoyed Foundation. I never read the books so I can't say how close this series is to them but I wouldn't care either way as long as it's a good show. The only negative thing I can't say about this amazing series is that the wait between seasons is too long. I understand series like this with all the great CGI and beautiful written stories takes longer to make and then edit but it still feels too long. Bottom line is Foundation really is one of the best sci-fi series I've seen and can't recommend it enough. I recently finished Season 3 and I can say that without a doubt that Season 3 is just as good as the first two were. Here's hoping that Season 4 keeps up the same quality of the first three because this is turning into one of the better sci-fi series of all-time.

  • You don't have to have had played the game to enjoy this

I went into Arcane knowing absolutely nothing about League of Legends. I had heard of the game but never played it or knew any of the characters or story. Having said that, I still really enjoyed it so even though you might like this series better if you knew about the story going in...it's not required. The animation is as beautiful as you can get but it's the story that pulls you in. It's just so well written with plenty of character and world building. It will grab you from the very first episode and will keep you captivated until the very last. Arcane is just a beautiful and dark adventure that I couldn't get enough of.

  • Jason Clarke gives an award worthy performance

I'm not sure why Murdaugh: Death in the Family isn't getting more attention because it has everything you want in a good crime drama. First of all, the performances alone make this worth watching. The entire cast is good but the standout is Jason Clarke. His portrayal of Alex Murdaugh is one of the best performances of the year and I wouldn't be shocked to see him nominated for some awards. Admittedly I didn't know much about this true story except for a little bit that I read and because of that I was fascinated throughout the entire miniseries. I binged through all 8 episodes in just a couple days and it was worth it.

  • As good as everyone says it is

Severance is every bit as good as everyone says it is. All you have to do is read through the reviews from both critics and the audience to see how much people think of this series. It's on every "best of shows of the year" list out there and has been nominated for a ton of awards for a reason. Adam Scott leads an amazing cast who all do a fantastic job. It's just such an original show that will keep you wanting more. The first episode may start a little slow for some but stick with it because I promise that you won't regret it. If you stay with it I guarantee it will become one of your favorite shows of the year. The only negative is waiting so long between seasons, but I guess it's better they do it right than rush it out there and be disappointed. I can't wait to see where this show goes next.

  • Terrific

I absolutely loved 1923. It's right up there with Yellowstone and 1883. If you're a fan of those two shows then you'll be a fan of this to. It takes the best of both of those shows and combine it for this one. This is definitely a show for adults with all the violence and language it has but that's what makes it so good. It's not for children. At this point Taylor Sheridan can do no wrong. He hits home run after home run. I love everything about this show...the acting, writing, directing, production, cinematography, etc, etc. All are excellent. I mean this stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren for crying out loud. For those two A-list actors to do a tv show you know it had to be good. I know those two are going to get all the attention, and rightfully so, but there are just so many other great actors in this, specifically Brandon Sklenar. Too many others to even name but they're all great.

  • Worth Watching

I just finished The Beast In Me and even though it's not the best series you'll see this year, it's still worth watching. It's a story we've all seen before but what makes this stand out is the cast. The strong performances from Matthew Rhys and Claire Danes make it that much better of a show. The chemistry the two of them have makes this worth the watch. It's gotten nothing but good reviews and has a very good 83% on Rotten Tomatoes as of now. It does start to get dragged out a little bit in the latter episodes and the ending wasn't very good but overall it's a solid watch.

  • Pretty Good

As a big fan of Western shows/movies I was really looking forward to The Abandons ever since I first heard about it. I've also been a Kurt Sutter fan ever since he created Sons of Anarchy so that grew my excitement even more. Now that's it here and I've seen it I can say that this series met those expectations. It's not the among the best westerners I've ever seen but it's still entertaining enough. Like most reviews here my biggest problem coming in is that at the time it was rare to have a woman hold so much power even more so to have two so I didn't think it would be a believable story. I was wrong, the writing and acting are so strong though that it's easy to accept it. If you're a western fan like myself then give this a try...you won't be disappointed.

  • Ridiculous but a fun watch

The Last Frontier is ridiculous but it's also worth watching as long as you can turn your brain off and watch for fun. It gets better with each episode as the stakes rise. Jason Clarke, Haley Bennett and Dominic Cooper all give solid performances that make the show that much better. I like that's there's a big storyline that takes up the whole season while each episode focuses on a different inmate's manhunt and how they're brought in. It also shows how beautiful and dangerous Alaska is, a world that most of will never know. Overall, it's a fun action thriller that's a solid watch as long as you don't take it too seriously.

  • Hilarious

South Park is and has been one of the funniest shows on television. It's my second favorite animated series to Family Guy and like Family Guy, this show is not afraid to say anything about anyone. Actually, I'd go as far as to say South Park goes even further than Family Guy. It's at its funniest when it's making fun of our political system right now because that's all we can do without going completely mad from it. This show shows equal opportunity when it comes to making fun of all political parties. Like any good show or movie about satire, the more you know what's going on in the world or in pop culture then the funnier this show will be to you.

  • The show was great when The Flash was the focus, the later seasons not so much

I'm a big fan of superhero shows, I even like the ones that most people don't, but The Flash is definitely one of the better ones but it got worse in the latter seasons and that's because The Flash was barely in it anymore. Like a lot of these reviews have already pointed out...the show was more focused on Iris in the last couple of seasons and I think everyone agreed that that was a huge mistake. Ever since the Crisis Crossover they've put her as pretty much a co-lead and every episode was among the lowest rated in the series history because of it. Overall I still give The Flash a high rating because the earlier seasons were just the good and Grant Gustin made a great Barry Allen and Flash. It was the later seasons that failed.

  • Not what I was expecting

Allen: Earth is finally here and I have to say I was hoping it would be a lot better than it is. It almost feels like a teen CW version of Alien and not the Alien franchise we all came to know and love. I was promised the show would be full of enough excitement and thrills that make the episodes feel like they fly by. It's not. The other thing I can't stand is that we have to wait to wait a week between episodes. I have come so used to binging series that that's how I like to watch my shows. I hate waiting a week when I enjoy a show. I admit I'm not the biggest or most knowledgeable Alien fan, the originals were made before I was born but I have watched them and enjoyed them. I am a big sci-fi fan though so that's why I was looking forward to this so much and why I'm disappointed.

  • Outstanding

I was not expecting The Newsroom to be nearly as good as it is. I'm not sure why I didn't hear more about this when it was originally on, I guess there are just so many great HBO shows it must've just got blurred in with the rest of them but this show deserves all the love it has gotten and more. Jeff Daniels has had a pretty solid acting career but this is easily his best role. The rest of the cast includes the always beautiful and talented Olivia Munn, Emily Mortimer, Dev Patel, Sam Waterston, David Harbour, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill, and so many other talented actors that I would be here forever naming them all. Their acting and the outstanding writing is what makes this show so special.

  • Terrific cast makes this worth watching

Death By Lightning is one of the more surprising shows I've seen on an ex president in my life. I was so caught up in it that I couldn't stop watching. The writing and performances were fantastic. Everyone knows what great actors Michael Shannon and Matthew Macfadyen are and both are at the top of their game here. I wouldn't be surprised to see both nominated for Emmy's. The supporting cast led by Betty Gilpin, Shea Whigham, Bradley Whitford and Nick Offerman are all terrific here and could lead to some more award nominations. All you have to do is read the reviews by both critics and the audience to see how much people liked this limited series. It currently has a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

  • Kate Hudson hasn't aged a day

I recently watched Running Point and have to say it's a pretty good show. I'm a huge basketball fan but even if you're not you should enjoy this show because basketball is only a small part of it. Kate Hudson, who hasn't aged a day in the 20+ years, leads a stellar cast of Justin Theroux, Scott MacArthur, Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Colin Hanks, etc. And they're all on top of their game here. This isn't going to be the best show you watch this year but it'll be one you'll be glad you watched. I'm already looking forward to next season.

  • Slow burn that's worth watching

I just now finally watched The Outsider and even though it was a completely different show than i expected I still really enjoyed it. Going in I didn't know it was supernatural . They also did a Nate and switch on us when they say Jason Bateman was the star, he was...for only 2 episodes. Good thing the always terrific Ben Mendelsohn was in it because he was as great as always. As a matter of fact the entire cast was great. The Outsider has everything you want in a good show...writing, acting, directing, cinematography, etc are all great. I can't believe Ben Mendelsohn is still considered an underrated actor because every time I read about a movie or show he's in it mentions him as being a reason why it was so good. This series is a slow burn that but you're going to want to watch it as fast as you can.

  • What a cast!

Wayward Pines was so much better than I expected, at least season 1 was. I can't believe this show wasn't talked about more when it was out or maybe it was and I just missed it. First off, what a cast...Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Shannon Sossaman, Melissa Leo, Jason Patric, Djimon Hounsou, etc. I mean, wow. It's hard to find too many shows with better than that. This show will have too on the edge of your seat and guessing what's next throughout every episode. Wayward Pines is one of the reason people were so excited excited about M. Night Shyamalan. His movies/shows are hit or miss but Wayward Pines is a hit.

  • Mad at myself for putting this off for so long bc it's terrific

I've heard nothing but great things about Halt and Catch Fire for several years now but I always put it off because I had other things to watch. Well, I finally got around to watching it and I'm actually mad at myself for putting it off for so long. It's as good as everyone says it's is. I'd actually go as far as to say it's one of the more underrated shows of the last decade. It didn't get promoted nearly enough, I barely heard about it when it was on. I need to give a special mention to Lee Pace, who is one of the most underrated and under appreciated actors out there right now, because he is amazing in this. If people actually gave this a chance like I did they would be amazed by how good it is. I can not recommend this show enough.

  • Better Than Expected

I was a bit weary coming into The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon because of how hit or miss the original and Fear the Walking Dead have been over the last few seasons. Then I saw The Walking Dead: Dead City and got excited again because I really enjoyed that a lot more than I thought I would. The trailers for this didn't give away too much but just enough to get people excited. Like many have said this story is a lot like The Last of Us where a man has to travel with a really important kid across the country and dealing with a bunch of dangerous situations, both alive and dead. Daryl is still the star and biggest reason to watch but the new supporting characters are also interesting enough to tune in. Norman Reedus does such an excellent job as Daryl.

  • Such a fun show

The Lowdown is such a fun show. Ethan Hawke is such a good actor and this is one of his best roles in years. He carries this show and steals every scene. There is one person who comes close but he's only a supporting character who isn't in to later in the season and that's Peter Dinklage. Hawke and Dinklage are hilarious together. The Lowdown is about an investigative journalist named Lee Raybon (Hawke) whose obsession with the truth is always getting him into trouble. Hawke is so good here that I wouldn't be surprised to see him nominated for some awards. This is a show where you'll have such a good time watching it that it will fly by and keep you wanting more.

  • Worth Watching

I went into Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy with little expectations and because of that I thought it was much better than I would've imagined. I just finished the latest season of Monster on Netflix on Ed Gein and while Charlie Hunnam was terrific as Ed Gein the show overall wasn't as good as the previous seasons. Devil in Disguise on the other hand was much better than the latest Monster season even though it didn't have any A-list actors attached to it. James Badge Dale is prob the most well known actor in this. This focuses less on the brutality of the killings and more on the harm done to the victims families. I would absolutely recommend this for any true crime fan.

  • Terrific

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is finally here and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved The Terminal List starring Chris Pratt so I've been looking forward to this ever since they announced this spinoff a few years ago. This spinoff is a prequel story about Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch), who was in the first one but takes center stage here. I've been a fan of Kitsch ever since he starred in the amazing Friday Night Lights. He's awesome here too. Chris Pratt is also back as James Reece and even though he's just a supporting character in this series he's as good as always. It also stars a bunch of other great actors like Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, Jai Courtney, Constance Wu, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michael Ealy and plenty of others you will recognize. There is plenty of action and drama to keep you entertained throughout each episode. The only bad thing I can say is they didn't release all the episodes at once and we have to wait a week between episodes. It's much better as a binge watch.

  • Not as good as Game of Thrones

I loved Game of Thrones but wasn't really sure what to expect when I first heard about this but the trailers looked pretty good so I gave it a chance. Then after reading the critics reviews and listening to all hype that was surrounding the show I was expecting this to be the next great series. It's not. I should have known since the reviews are so mixed but people were hyping it up for months and again the trailers were pretty good. I'm a few episodes into season 2 right now and it's going to be a struggle to finish the rest of the season. It definitely hasn't been nearly as good as I thought it would be and judging by the mixed reviews I'm guessing the rest of the season will be much of the same.

  • Great cast makes this worth watching

The Agency: Central Intelligence is a must watch for anyone a fan of spy thrillers. First of all, the cast is absolutely amazing. It stars Michael Fassbender, Jeffery Wright, Richard Gere and Katherine Waterston. That cast right there is reason enough to five this a try and on top of that it's a really good show too. I won't be surprised to see this show and most of the cast nominated for some awards come award season. The series is about a covert CIA agent (Fassbender) who is ordered to leave his undercover life and return to the field with his ex lover (Waterston) who he's still in love with. His love for her starts to interfere with his real life and the mission. If you're a fan of spy thrillers or a good mystery series then give this a try. You won't be disappointed.
