I used to think that Ranveer has delivered his career best in Padmavat, but no, I was wrong.. his career best was yet to come and it has finally arrived in form of "Gully Boy".
But before getting on the performances, first starting with the movie.
They are very few movies which inject an energy blast in you and make you someone different as you step out of the movie theatre. Gully Boy is one of this kind, it enters in your mind first and then it captures your heart and then, you are all cheering Ranveer Singh, rapping on the stage. The movie and the rap seem to be so real that you could feel the energy, thrill, and zeal of it. You find yourself one among the audience and you just want to cheer Ranveer Singh aka Gully Boy to increase his adrenaline, so he can deliver his best rap performance.
Zoya Akhtar put the soul to the movie with her flawless and impeccable direction. She carries the movie in such a realistic way that it makes you think that all the character and incidents are real and you are right there and watching them.
But the spirit of "Gully Boy" lies in its character and their marvelous performance. As, I started with Ranveer Singh, who has undoubtedly delivered his career-best makes you forget the ups and downs of your life with its stubbornness, zeal, energy level and electrify raps. Alia Bhatt as we all know is a wonderful actress has once again proved that she is the leading lady of Bollywood, in such a short span of her career in the film industry, she has stunned us with so many amazing performances. In Gully Boy too, she has once again impressed and entertained us with her impeccable dialogue delivery and facial expression. She is just awesome. After the leading pair, another character who has left his mark in the movie is the debutant "Siddhant Chaturvedi" the young atom bomb. He played his character to the utmost point and leaves us praising and cheering form him while watching the movie. He is undoubtedly the next vVcky Kaushal of Bollywood. Great debut by him. Rest all the support cast was good.
The last but and least, the thing without that this movie cannot be completed is its raps. The raps are so good, much much better than Honey Singh and Badshah. I wonder how talented people are. The lyrics and the music both are so awesome and electrifying that they take a fiery and zestful you out of you.
So. at last I want to say that "Gully Boy" is one of the movies which will entertain you, make you think, will groove you with its music and stunned you with the power-packed performances involved.
In short, if you want to see something real and different, do not wait, just head towards the cinema hall.

I already knew that this movie is going to be a big torture since I had lost confidence in Rohit Shetty after his big blunders- Dilwale and Golmaal 3. But since I had already watched Secret Superstar with my friends and my parents wanted to watch a movie, I had to choose Golmaal Again. And Trust me, it was worse than what I thought. It was like a nightmare to tolerate this garbage for 2.5 hours. I could have left the theater in the middle, but my parents said that it would be a wastage of money, which we had spent for tickets. So I sat and watched.
Now coming to the essence, this movie has only a few seconds during which you can actually laugh. Seriously I am not exaggerating anything, the movie has only one or two scenes during which I really felt to laugh that too for very few seconds. Now rating each and every sphere of the movie.
Story: The film doesn't have any story-line. Nothing!!! A plain boring journey with no humor, no horror, and suspense. I agree, film poster already says "no logic only magic", but at least there should be some humor, there should be some good performances. But not a single moment of entertainment. Plain boring and forced story (not worth telling at all). 0/10 for the story.
Direction: Another dismal and miserable attempt of Rohit Shetty to make people laugh and this time it has got worse than it could be. He knows it really well that how to fool people by taking a huge star-cast and releasing his movie around a big festival. 1/10 for direction.
Performances: The movie is filled with tons of stars. But none of them makes an impact expect Johnny Lever and Prakash Raj. Ajay Devgn is one of my favorite actors in Bollywood, but in this movie even he seems helpless, trapped between poor story and no scope to perform. Another big disappointment was Tusshar Kapoor who also fails to create humor. Rest of the star cast just blindly followed whatever said to them. 2/10 for performances. One each for Johnny Lever and Prakash Raj.
Music: Music has nothing to do in the film. But still, it is OK and accompanied by a good choreography.
Cinematography: The ONLY thing that gave pleasure to my eyes was the terrific beauty of Ooty, which was well captured in this film. I had never thought Ooty to be so beautiful. This film has really created an urge in me to visit Ooty during my next vacation. 10/10 for cinematography.
The last verdict: Golmaal: the fun unlimited was awesome, Golmaal Returns was average, Golmaal 3 was poor and Golmaal Again is the worse thing you can see in a comedy movie. It is a complete waste of time and that time can be spent better somewhere else. If you really like people slapping others and making them bounce and spin here and there and you call it a comedy, you can go for it, otherwise, please go for Secret Superstar, it is a way better movie and a must watch.

Secret Superstar is one of the few movies that travel far with you and you just carried away along with them. It is a story about motherhood (an unceasing and endearing relationship between a mother and a daughter), about dreams and struggles to achieve them. This movie marvelously illustrates if you really have a dream and you have the will to fulfill it, then no matter how bad the circumstances are, you will turn your dreams into reality. It beautifully explains the sacrifices a mother can make to make her child happy and his/her dream come true.
Now coming to the plot/story which is a backbone of this wonderful movie: The story is very engaging and mesmerizing. It is highly inspiring and filled with a lot of emotions and unforgettable moments. Some scenes are the real heart-stealer like scenes between Insiya (Zaria Wasim) and her mother (Meher Vij), the first meeting of Shakti Kumar (Aamir Khan) and Insiya and last few minutes. This film will also make you nostalgic for your school love and crushes. 10/10 for Advait Chandan's highly inspiring and emotional story. Phenomenal -10/10.
Direction: Advait Chandan's direction is terrific and beyond expectations. It doesn't seem that it is his first movie as a director. I didn't expect SO MUCH from him. He has captured the mother- daughter bond brilliantly and framed emotional and tear- jerking moments beautifully. And also, he has put the right dose of humor into the movie.
Performances: The film is loaded with brilliant and mind-blowing performances. After Dangal, Zaria Wasim once again proved that she is a brilliant actor and upcoming "superstar". Her acting is impeccable and extraordinary. She has lived the character of a teenage girl caged by his orthodox and short-tempered father but dares to dream big and tries to fulfill it against all odds. Meher Vij is very natural and realistic. She is very adorable and reminds you of your mother. But, Aamir Khan despite being in a supportive and short role, creates magic. He makes you laugh with his raunchy face expressions and dance moves but also makes you cry with his tearful and heart-warming eyes at the same time. Also, Raj Arjun (Zaria's father) and Tirth Sharma (Zaria's School friend) have played their parts wonderfully. 10/10 in performances.
Music: The music of the film is good. Although, except "Nachdi Phira" none of the songs seems to be a perfect choice for the playlist and to be listened in a repetitive mode. But, when you listen to them in the movie, the songs seem completely different and soothing due to their perfect timings and great lyrics. It would have been terrific if all the songs were as good as "Nachdi Phira". But still, they are pleasurable when you hear them in the movie.
The last verdict: "Secret Superstar" is a very special movie and a perfect Diwali gift from Aamir Khan and Zaria Wasim. It inspires you and makes you nostalgic for your school days. This movie makes you cry and laugh at the same time and connects with you in the best possible way. Don't dare to skip this masterpiece at any cost. Go with your family and loved ones and come out of the theater with tears in your eyes but smile on your face. A MUST MUST WATCH. MIND- BLOWING!!!
