I was surprised by just how negative the reviews on this film were! It of course is by no means a perfect film. The first half is a bit uncomfortable and slow, in bad need of some further editing. That said, it lays the groundwork for what happens later and I honestly loved the imagery throughout. Although quirky, I loved both of the main characters. Outside of pacing, my main issue with the first half of the film is that some of the characters make decisions which feel unbelievable.
That said, as this movie got going I really came to enjoy it! The tension, drama, and romance become more intense and believable. Near to the finale I was genuinely anxious to know what would happen!
Go see this film, make your own opinions. Just know if isn't quite a normal western, or a traditional romance. A beautiful movie that I'm happy was produced!!!

This episode has been one of the best from the series reboot so far! It has just enough twists and turns to keep interest while also being something that could plausibly be solved. It could very well be one thing but also very well another thing. The individuals involved and interviewed are all surprisingly likeable. The detectives also seem devoted and curious to know what happened. I would definitely recommend this episode if you're skeptical about the show or haven't liked the previous episodes in the series! For us this was certainly a favorite of the series reboot so far! Please keep making episodes like this one!
I rarely write reviews, but this episode was worth it. I skipped seasons 1&2 of Picard, and I'm glad I did. This season and this episode felt like the send off that TNG and the crew deserved. The writing, the acting, and the production were all great.
The story also wasn't too outlandish, it felt like an honest continuation of what came before. The episode takes the correct amount of time to tell its story, even if it is a bit rushed. Overall, I'm happy that I watched this and you should watch it + the season as well!
And a note on "fan service". Unlike when Star Wars trys to pay 'tribute' to the originals, Picard actually does that when it's deserved. The final season and this episode respects us, the fans. We're all the better for it.
