I really enjoyed the first three seasons, it had a good mix of humor, charm and police investigation action. And the cases were different and interesting. Season 4 seems like they wrote one script and then tweak it a little bit every week, but basically: someone found dead; id three suspects through phone records/credit card receipts, etc.; all three suspects look like the killer but each has an airtight alibi; no wait, one alibi not so airtight, arrest. And for gosh sakes, let's get this wedding over with already, I'm tired of the angst. But the worst part of Season 4? Corbin Bernsen. Do you mean to tell me in all of Hollywood the producers couldn't find another actor who isn't already playing the part of "curmudgeonly yet lovable dad of a wise-cracking, hip detective"? Gaah, I get so distracted every time he's on screen because all I can think of is what is Henry Spencer doing here? I'll probably stick with it the rest of this season, but after that I think I'm over this show.
Another masterpiece from Ivan Noel. Beautifully filmed and haunting story that will stay with you long after the closing credits. If you like your movies simple and predictable, this is not the movie for you. But if you are willing to venture outside your comfort zone just a bit and have your senses challenged, you'll be richly rewarded. What seems to be a simple tale of a family living in an old monastery slowly leads you down a path of breath taking twists and turns. A traumatic event sets a chain of tragic events in motion, leading to a magnificent finale. Renzo Sabelli, the young actor who plays the (aptly named) boy Gabriel puts in an amazing, believable performance for one so young.
