I saw this movie in the 90s on vhs. I really liked it at the time but hadn't seen it since until I watched it last night. Kirk Cameron's southern accent is horrendous but you have to look past that. Some of the script is very cheesy and predictable like you would see on a soap opera. But the story is put together in a good way and the actors are interesting and good. I used to think one character's arc was unrealistic like he's being such a baby but as I am older I know that there are weak parts in all of us and those weak parts are the hardest to overcome and depress us the most.
Jamie Gertz and Kirk Cameron have good chemistry. And I feel her most dramatic moments are executed well.

It's neither funny nor deep nor well-written nor entertaining nor well-made nor anything else. It started off okay for around the first half hour. The scenes jump around with zero segue like how a teenager would film a movie. There is no character development at all. It's not a cult film, it is hard to watch and you get nothing from it. I get that part of it is satire but first rule of comedy is "be funny".
The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because despite the horrible plot, Emilio Estevez is a really good actor and watching him.provided some interest for me to not turn it off.

Just pointless in every way. It's like the Xfiles was mocking itself which was strange. Even the music was horrific. Kathy Griffin's performance was not magical and could have been done by any actress. It's like the writer wanted us to lose respect for mulder and scully and their work. The plot ultimately made no sense and there was no explanation for the what we just wasted an hour of our lives watching. There's a saying in writing to prevent laziness that is: "Show don't tell" and all the sudden Scully got some pieces to the puzzle from a supposed internet search we didn't even witness. Very weak sauce and not funny at all...
