I was excited to watch Queer because I loved Call Me by Your Name and expected something similarly moving. Unfortunately, this film completely failed to convince me. It lacked any real emotion, and I found myself unable to connect with the characters or their story.
The biggest issue for me was the storytelling-or rather, the lack of it. The narrative felt disjointed, and I struggled to understand the point of it all. Why does almost every gay film have to revolve around sex? And worse, here it was presented in such a dull, uninspired way, completely devoid of passion or meaning. The scenes were banal, and instead of drawing me in, they pushed me further away.
After an hour, I couldn't take it anymore and left the cinema. I had hoped for a powerful, engaging experience, but Queer left me cold.
