This is one production which literally promises to take us places however isn't really about to go anywhere too soon and as one would find it, doesn't go anywhere at all. Make no mistake, the action is a masterpiece in itself however true to the title it turns back to itself one too many times and that is all that it does for the entirety of the movie. To be fair it does manage to keep the viewer engaged however as it keeps turning on itself over and over again it is strictly a one time watch. The maker of the movie seems to revel in bloodletting and gore for the sake of it. Either the movie in its entirety takes place entirely in the head of one of its principal characters or belongs to the class of movies made only for the sake of making a movie. At a small risk of giving out anything at all, the movie was literally centimetres away from descending into a farcical comedy, if only the principal character had strained atleast some of her neurons in conjunction with her vocal chords at the right time.
The true credit for making the movie outstanding goes to none other than the late Neerja Bhanot herself. She is the cornerstone of the whole project and when I had read about her 28 long years after the incident I had felt really sorry for myself that I had missed out on her story for so long! Now 30 years later her deeds are finally getting the fanfare that it had really deserved.
It goes on to show the weight of duty associated with the space that is allotted to you in this world whatever time it is for. That space can be filled up by no one other than you. Therefore it is not about what you have to do to fill it but how you want to go about filling it.
Given the kind of many sexist jokes that air stewardesses are subject to and given the fact that the movie didn't have a standard hero of the "bollywood" kind this one was really needed.
