I'm definitely a kid at heart, and I'm not saying that I did not think it was a great movie, but I can't help but note that Man of Steel, which I also loved, seemed to be too Dark a situation for Superman, and this 2025 movie seems to do a 180. That does not upset me that much, but the costume is really silly. I mean, technically, the costume has been silly since the 1990s, but it was mostly about how the man fits into that silly suit, and David Corneswet does not fit well at all in that silly suit. He was a decent Superman, but so far not my favorite. The movie has a good Lois Lane as well, but once again, not my favoriteWhat got me geared up for this movie was that second trailer, which showcased the political angle Superman faces in being Superman, which I was hyped for. It may seem like an adult theme, but kids are a lot smarter now than when the Quest for Peace came out. I am glad that the political angle was a huge part of the story, cause it did make the movie for me, and it's all thanks to the stellar performance of Nicolas Hoult as what I think has to be my favorite Lex LuthorSuperman is not set up to give Mr. Hoult these flowers for doing a great job with Mr. Luthor, but all around, he was the amazing villain of the movie. I like to think that his time as the superhero Beast in the three X-Men movies prepared him for this. Maybe even Michael Fassbender gave him a few pointers. Gene Hackman was a great actor who brought his A game to the material he was given, but Hoult brought his A game to material that was golden. Now I would like to see Cavil's Superman face, Hioult's Luthor. That would be a perfect Superman movie for me. As far as building this new DC universe on the screen, the 1st step was a weak one. Nathan Fillon does a great job as Guy Gardner, and I would like to see a full movie with him doing it. Mr. Terrific was Terrific, but Hawkgirl could use a little more screen time. Other than the Green Lantern, there really were not many big gun references in the film to get excited about a new universe Not that big of a DC fan or a Superman fan, and while I like the movie, it definitely did nothing to stir me away from hoping Marvel's Fantastic Four 1st steps is a little better.

So when they said Bridehard and I saw Rebel Wilson on the poster, I was thinking Bridesmaids and pondering if Rebel had the guts to go the distance in comedy.

As it turns out Bridehard was a play on words for meaning Die Hard...At a wedding. Not a bad turnaround for a movie, but it was more funny than it was action-packed.

What sucks about that is that this movie was directed by Simon West. Back in the day, Simon West was a name that met action: Con Air, Tomb Raider, The Mechanic. To have the director's name on this, I wanted to see better than what I got when it comes to action. They could have gotten someone else to point and shoot the camera, and the movie would have been just as good, but having Simon West as a director means this movie could have been better, but it wasn't.

Best to see it for free on a streaming service.

Not into romance movies, so I went into this skeptically. I knew how this movie was going to go down, and I was not disappointed. Made me feel like a true film fan with justification.

What I loved about this film is its honesty. Coming from both ends, it spoke a truth that broke the archetype expected in this film, this type of film, and any film for that matter. For that, I have to put this as my fav romance film (not that it truly had rivals).

To me, this was Dakota Johnson's best performance. The charm was fully on leading lady levels here. Her charisma sold me.

I'll give Chris Evans an ok. He seemed the perfect tool for Johnson to act on rather than doing any true heavy lifting. Same for Pedro Pascal, which I found disappointing. I mean, if the actor himself got a kick from being nothing but man candy, then more power to him, but I didn't see the charm with this movie.

Then again, this is not my speed. I liked it and that's saying something from a man whose preference are fart jokes that cause multiple explosions. Those who truly dig romance, I think, it's up your alley.
