Yes, yes, Richard we were entertained. However, everyone knows you lied and that the whole family was in on it. Think its about time to give up the ghost. Kind of crazy how this one little stunt affected the way the entire family acts. There's a certain greasiness about all the kids now, sort of slimy attitudes you can't really trust due to this ingrained behavior brought about by this story their father told them they had to always stick to no matter what. They all sort of have that Wolfpack vibe now too, arrested development type thing. No surprise at the end that they are live in this gated compound now, afraid of the world. Hopefully that pardon makes them all less paranoid. I will give props to the wife though. That man found a woman that will stick with him through all of his crazy antics. Got to appreciate that I guess, he's found himself a real one. Also thanks to Netflix for not dragging this one out too long.
Too many characters I don't care about, and the Gone Girl-style monologue gimmick overstays its welcome after the first episode. Jon Hamm's character doesn't need to prove his intelligence in such this wannabe edgy, try-hard way. The writing leans too heavily on faux-clever, surface-level soliloquies instead of letting his actions or interactions speak for him. It's a classic case of 'show, don't tell'. Worse, the format feels irreparably damaged by those repetitive solo shots with the ex-wife, who's quickly devolved into an unlikeable (and possibly irredeemable) caricature, and these so-called "robberies" feel like a mindless afterthought.
The shows foundation of why he lost his job is also weak and there are too many pointless sex scenes.

I was ready to check out after the first 6 minutes but I felt it wouldn't be fair to write a negative review without finishing the show and giving the other comedians a chance. By the end I'm still holding this against Netflix though and probably Jeff Ross. The rest seem to be able to carry specials on their own so I'd like to hope they didn't write these jokes themselves. I find it hard to believe that the audience was laughing as hard as they seemed to at some of them. I'm pretty sure they took those clips from the two jokes out of the entire episode that were actually funny. The Biden impersonator was... interesting. Given the special's overall lameness I was bracing for another Trump so it was a fresh breeze amidst the comedy swamps of Dagobah. Featuring coked out John Stamos on drums trying a little bit harder to not appear coked out. Oh and to that 8/10 reviewer - please stop using ChatGPT to write your reviews, it's ruining the platform.
