To start out transparent; I have played the video game and have watched the tv-series, but not read the books.
Honestly I did not have very high hopes for this movie, since Vesemir as a character has never drawn me in, but oh boy I was pleasantly surprised!
As people have stated: the animation is stunning, the story engaging and the "vibe" of the universe is familiar in a good way, especially if you've played the game.
However, 2 things kept the movie from being truly excellent.
1. The music.
Don't get me wrong, the soundtrack is amazing, but it sometimes drowns out the dialogue.
2. The pacing.
The emotional impact of the story would have been more, well, impactful, if they would have fleshed out some scenes and slowed down things a bit.
Potentially you might need to be somewhat familiar with the world of the Witcher to fully enjoy the story. But overall, a really entertaining movie.

As fantasy TV-series go, this was among the better, both production and acting-wise! It took a couple episodes to get hooked, but once I was it was all binging from there.
The vibe is a bit too YA for it to be truly brilliant, but apart from that - the world, the fantasy and the characters are sure to keep you watching.
Furthermore, Kit Young (Jasper) is sure to have a bright acting career in front of him!

The acting, cinematography and overall production were absolutely astounding. I went in a bit sceptical, but came to love every moment the movie had to offer. Particularly Robert Gustafsson surprised me with his convincing portrayal of the ruthless amusement park owner. The only reason I'm not giving Eld & Lågor 10/10 is that the story was a bit uneven in where it wanted to go and therefore fell a bit short. The overall production, however, makes up for this and makes me recommend this movie to anyone interested in watching it.
