This flick is am embarrassment. Guns with unlimited ammunition, wasting rounds shooting at nothing, killing everyone who is no longer useful. AUUUUUUGHHHH. Zoe Bell is always fun to watch,, too bad she didn't make it, but she was one of the bad guys,,, in fact,,, all the bad buys are CIA. The nut ward was unnecessary, but, it set the tone for the rest of the movie. Cutesey camera tricks like superimposing the same shot over itself got a little tiresome after a while. Snapping the bad guys necks seemed to be the agreed upon method of dispatching them. Oh Well,,, they can't all be Oscar Winners.
There really IS nothing new under the sun. Occasionally a film will come along that is truly original, but this one ain't IT. Most of Phil Dicks stories translate to great movies, but, again,, this ain't one of 'em. It is Ben Afleck though,,, and Uma Thurman is lovely, as always. Paul Giamati plays himself, again and Michael Hall shows promise of great things to come. There is the requisite car chase, and lots of explosions, including THE Big One. Plenty of shooting, with very few hits. If you read any of the other 400 reviews, then THIS one isn't going to make much difference, however,,,,,,, it IS aptly titled; for the cast, the crew, and I'm guessing everyone involved did it for just THAT.
Read the latest review, and agree with what was said. No point in reading any of the others. This is a disturbing film; Stepford Meets The Matrix,,, sorta. Second Life that can be subscribed to, in the Real World, and patronized by people who seemingly cannot cope with reality. Sad ending. No resolution. Probably a film that would have been better, if it was never made. Two hours I can't get back. I should have read my own review before spending the fifteen bucks for the dvd, but, then,,, therein lies the problem. Gonna need a few stiff drinks and a couple Jason Statham movies to counter-act THIS one.
