The writing, acting, production and direction of this black comedy are fantastic. I realise for anyone looking for an uplifting experience it won't be your cup of tea, but for those with a particular sense of humour it'll be thoroughly addictive.
If you're a fan of Louis CK in general and especially if you enjoyed Horace and Pete you'll love this. It's a great tip of the hat to concept of the sad clown. I also think if you'll find something in this if you liked The Office. Zach Galifianakis's character reminds me of Michael Scott in many ways.
As with any TV show, don't rely on a review, check it our for yourself! :)

As a someone who has taken great hoy from The Walking Dead in its original comic form I was excited to hear about this series being made into a show, especially considering it was being produced by AMC, makes of another fantastically produced show, Mad Men. Obviously with something you love you always wish to see justice done and the source material put to good use.
The Walking Dead's first episode has actually set the stage for something beyond what even the comic can provide. As a series the TV version of this can expand upon the thing that makes the comic great; the shear depth of character insight and development.
The elements of a typical zombie movie can be over looked because the true success of this show depends on the representation of the characters. I think I can say with some conviction that AMC have acknowledge this is the primary reason The Walking Dead can work as a long-running show and have excellently set the stage for a truly brilliant series.
Onwards!
