The film was quite bland, I am sorry to say, and came across as a made-for-TV movie instead of a theatrical release.
-- The core theme if the film was diluted by too many locations and characters.
-- a fantastic cast was mostly wasted with over-editing and distant shots rather than extended close-ups.
-- the pacing was unengaging, with the first half slow and spread out while the second produced an outcome that had little build-up and came out of nowhere, leaving this audience wondering what had happened to cause ending to be as it was.
-- the film started out as "Twelve Angry Men". I could have got behind that as we would have at least got to learn about the key characters. But it morphed into a melodrama with too many characters in key scenes.
So we go some characters we didn't know existed suddenly speaking up and delivering a line or two then returning to the role of set furniture. Meanwhile, central players just repeated everything they'd already said each time they were on screen, so we never really learned enough to take any interest in them.

Bill Nighy said it is one of the best films he has ever appeared in.
Ralph Ineson shared that it was a script he couldn't refuse.
Charles Dance gave up higher profile roles so as to be in this film.
None of the above is true.
You may look at the cast list and think this is some kind of endorsement of the film. It isn't. They probably each were paid a bucket-load of cash for a day's shooting and that is where the budget went.
The film looks cheap, the plot is contrived and full of holes, and the only thing scary about it is that it has user rating above 5.
Films like this are meant to unnerve the audience but all it did was get on my nerves.
