I'm having trouble writing this review as the normal words you use to describe a TV mini series just don't express the feelings you have when watching Reunion.
Yes the way it blends sign language, lip reading, subtitles and silence make it difficult to get used to at first but it isn't as difficult as being profoundly deaf actors delivering such awesome performances!
Yes it starts slowly as most do whilst the characters are introduced and cryptic hints to the plot are seeded.
Yes it isn't easy to fully appreciate the isolation, frustration. Anger, depression, misunderstandings, indifference and prejudice being experienced.... but we should shouldn't we?!
BUT at the heart of Reunion are some really important stories to be told and the twists and turns are every bit as good as a 'normal' thriller. Try to suspend the normal rules you use to judge this and see it for the groundbreaking, emotional, educational and absolutely awesome drama that it is.

Thanks so much Slash for bringing this to the screen. Great cast, great swirling plot, superb blend of contemporary issues and man's inhumanity to man!
Love it when you suss some of the plot lines and get blindsided by others. Wife and I were so absorbed by the plot that we watched the lot over 2 nights. In fact it so drew us in that we almost didn't notice the soundtrack. Must have blended in so well. Will go back and listen out for it.
I'm sure some will criticise elements of the show but we loved the clever devices used.
There were elements of Silent Witness and Vera which is meant as praise indeed. If the next series builds on this wonderful beginning we will be in Paradise City!

For $126m my wife and I expect a pretty polished series and by and large it delivers. It's stylish, exciting and there's good plot twists and script. The locations are impressive and the tension builds well. The filming angles and quality are excellent too.
We liked the music and there was some very good synchronisation with the action particularly for the scene with Won't get fooled again by the Who.
Like other reviewers we weren't impressed by the female lead but unlike them we thought Eddie. Redmayne didn't carry the role at all. Anyone less like a ruthless killer it would be difficult to find. So apologetic, emotional and physically not imposing at all. Maybe they stayed true to Forsyth's preference for someone who didn't stand out in a crowd as in the original film.
That said it's otherwise a really enjoyable watch.
