Went with the kids (7&10) to this stylish screen adaption of Marjon Hoffman's novel and it really did inspire our children's fantasies. Our oldest was familiar with the book but she was very pleased that the movie contained new and different elements to show Rikkie's transformation.
Although this movie revolves around serious subjects like honesty and bullying it never felt too heavy to me. Our youngest did found it a bit scary at times but that only added juice to his imagination.
The story borrows some classic situations from (crime) movies and mixes them with stop hammer time... ... ... recognizable events which were a joy to watch both for our children and me as parent.
