Lumpychunks

I discovered this show while visiting a friend in Denmark last year. During some downtime, my friend convinced me to watch a few episodes of Klovn on DVD, proclaiming, it's a Danish Curb your enthusiasm. Before I knew it, I bought the entire box set to take home to my friends in Australia. This show is fantastic, it really draws you in and commands you to watch episode after episode. I laughed myself stupid throughout the whole series and I could easily watch the whole thing repeatedly. Some people have called it a Danish Curb your enthusiasm, but I would dare say that this show is better. Curb maintains it hilarity for about 3 seasons, before becoming predictable and unrealistic. Klovn stays funny and true to itself for the entire 6 seasons. Also, as a side note, if you've ever been to Denmark, this show transports you back there, it's a really beautiful country.

To people who haven't seen this movie, ignore the negative reviews on here, this movie is absolutely brilliant, I couldn't say enough good things about it. I watched it on a tiny TV and it was so scary It gave me a headache, I can't imagine what it would have been like in the cinema. I just loved it, it was so realistic, the script for starters is as basic as they come, but the dialog is so honest and real that you just can't help but feel for these characters even though they are a pair of yuppie dicks. The Digital camera work is brilliant, (I don't think it would have worked at all on film,) and the music was decent, Altohugh I think the film would have worked without music altogether. Now let's get to the scary stuff, I don't think I have ever been this scared in a movie, this was real fear, not just ooh that's scary, my head was pounding as if it was me in that water, it is an absolutely brilliant achievement. You just believe every second of it, every reaction to every situation just had me thinking "yeah I'd be doing that too if it were me. It's not an exploitation movie either, it doesn't set out to make people hate sharks the behavior of the sharks seems realistic too, (though I'm no expert)but there's no wild chase scenes with blood thirsty sharks munching down every human in sight, the sharks just do what they do, I'll shut up now, see this movie. it rules

I watched a scene at the sea last night, I was feeling really tired but it actually helped to watch the film in a drowsy state, it is a really simple story and the way kitano tells the story is even more simple, I just can't get over kitano, he's a really incredible film aker, I've only scene this and "hanabi" and "brother", but they all deict a similarly strange world. I like the fact that the camera barely ever moves instead relying on really beautiful long shots that look, in a lot of cases, like paintings. I'm going to make it my mission to see all 11(?) of the films he has directed. Kitano really is just one of those people who can make you forget your watching a movie, the way it all unfolds just feels like something else The acting was reserved but completely convincing, especially between the two main characters, the fact that you could get such a strong sense of character from two people who never speak is really amazing. My appreciation for kitano grows with every film I watch, seek these films out, they're worth it.
