An African immigrant (Edith Martinez Val) is hiding in an Andalusian house where a lady named Carmina (Sonia Barba), the owner of the mansion, discovers him. She hides him, and doesn't tell the authorities. After being discovered by the Lady, the mansion's maid, Lupe (Beatriz Arjona), finds out about the same and she sympathizes with him more than the owner. Little by little, we discover the main characters, particularly the Lady, a posh woman who lives of the rent and spends her time in her luxurious house while entertaining people and chatting with friends. Everything unfolds clandestinely in the Andalucían manor house, and Doña Carmina's bithday party is taking place, attended by many guests, until an unforseen circumstance uncovers the whole story.
Belen Atienza, the producer of feature films such as: "The orphanage", "Lo imposible", and 'Pan's Labyrinth", financed this low-buget movie, in which Elena Manrique makes her directorial debut and writes this tragicomedy with an underlying politically incorrect humor. There's a profound satire, as sharp as it is funny, that attacks the squalid elites who think they're better than everyone else. Throughout, it depicts class diferences, illegal immigration, inequality, racism, and the sad enjoyment of life, both for those with a lot of money or power and for those who have nothing, as well as examining the very roots of that thing called dignity. And it contemplates the complex relationships that develop between the Lady, the maid, and the immigrant they both hide. There is a detailed description of the three main roles, especially the owner of the 'Cortijo Andaluz'. She is a selfish and presumptuous being who reclaims to be leftist, from the political party currently in power, when she is really a conceited fraud, believing herself to be of a higher class than others, truly being the embodiment of social hypocrisy. Very well played by Sonia Barba, who efficiently shows her peculiar character. She is the true trigger for all humor, madness, sentimentality and excesses described in this story. Alongside her is Edith Martinez Val , who also acts perfectly, having previously played a similar rol in "El salto". And the third starring in discord, Beatriz Arjoma, is equally successful in her performance as the resigned maid, also manipulated by the bossy Lady.
Writer Elena Manrique's direction of this farce is acceptable enough, surprising for its self-confidence, lack of prejudice and outstanding scenes of the birthday dance, in which she demonstrates filmmaking expertise, despite being her debut film. Manrique was previouslyn production manager for movies such as "Che, part 1 and 2" , "Imago Mortis" , "Blue is the warmest color" and wrote "Ciudad Delirio" , debuting as a director with this "Fin de fiesta", which she also wrote. Rating: 6/10. A decent film, somewhat uneven, at times, but saved by the superb performances, particularly that of the lead actress.

Paul Verhoeven's Robocop 1989 is a successful and stylish cop thriller with a prophetic vision of future. Set in a futuristic old Detroit , the crime rates are soaring with several criminal bands. Detroit Police is controlled is controlled by the OCP, Omni Consumer Corporation Led by a villain CEO (Ronny Cox) . One of the best agents is Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) who is killed by a ruthlless gang of murderers commanded by Clarence Bottker (Kurtwood Smith). OCP decides use the corpse of Alex to get the future Police: half Man and half robot.
Original distopyan movie is packed with unstopped action, shootouts, but it proves to be overly violent and at times unpleasant, but also very fun and entertaining. Peter Weller is good as the half-human, half-robot policeman, who is the perfect patrolman and possesses an incredible force and deadly coldness. Peter will play first and second part , in Robocop 3 the role will be taken by Robert Burke who copies all the characteristics of Weller. Along with Peter Weller, his usual co-worker, Nancy Allen, who will appear in all three installments, although in the last one she will play a very secondary appearance. Adding a nice suppot cast with plenty of familiar faces, such as Miguel Ferre, Daniel O'Herlihy, Kurtwood Smith, Ray Wise, Felton Perry, among others.
Robocop 1987 is followed by sequels, reboot, TV series and other imitaciones, such as: "Robocop 2" 1990 by Irvin Kershner with Peper Weller, Nancy Allen, Belinda Bauer, Daniel O'Herlihy, Tom Noonan, Felton Perry, Patricia Charbonneau. "Robocop 3", 1992, by Fred Dekker with Robert James Burke who subtitutes Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Rip Torn, John Castle, Jill Hennessy, CCH Punder, Mako. And a remake " Robocop" , 2014, by José Padilla with Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, Michael Kenneth Williams
Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven creates a sinister world based on the comic books universe. Robocop is an adult fantasy of superheroes with loads of action, humor and cyborgs written by Edward Neumeier and Michael Miner . The pace is breakneck and when the the wit dies tun out, way-out weaponry and whole-scale destruction keep the appaled excitement burning. There's much violence with disturbingly made set pieces and gory scenes. In tune with the times, the techno-violence here is tempered with appeal to family values, with continuous records of Robocop on his family.

An old vampire from Transylvania stalks a young woman -Lily Rose Depp- in XIX Germany. Nicolas Hoult is the ambitious young who goes to the Carphatian mountains to arrange propriety business for the count Orlok -Bill Skarsgard-. In Transylvania, the young encounters hostile Romani villagers who shun him for his association with Orlok and he witnesses a sadistic impaling of a corpse they claim is a vampire. Later on, Nosferatu moves from Transylvania to Germany, spreading the Black Plague across the land and only a woman can bring an end to his kingdom of terror. The horrible vampire causes destruction, deaths and wreak havoc throughout.
Modern version about Nosferatu, resulting to a be a slow moving work for the moody results. It is an adequate reboot that copies the vintage acting by Max Schrenk considered to be the most horrifying of all screen in the silent classic "Nosferatu" (1922). "Nosferatu" (2024) is a captivating and eerie experience with creepy images, exciting escenes and imaginative setttings. Bill Skarsgard is adequate as Nosferatu with his rat face, long nails, pointed ears and skeletal frame. The slow, somewhat exaggerated reactions of the characters, brilliantly echo the previous adaptations. Interpretations are pretty good, stars Nicholas Hoult as the ingenuous young who becomes involved into an extreme nightmare; Lily-Rose Depp as the unfortunate woman who suffers continuous possession; along with Aaron Taylor Johnson as Friedrich and especial mention for William Dafoe, overacting as professor Eberhart.
The best rendition about Nosferatu is the classic silent film: "Nosferatu" (1922) by F. W. Murnau with the weird actor Max Schrenk. Followed by "Nosferatu" (1979) by Werner Herzog with Klaus Klnski, Bruno Ganz, Isabelle Adjnani, Roland Topor. And an inferior follow-up: "Nosferatu in Venice" (1988) by Augusto Caminito and Mario Caiano with Klaus Kinski, Christopher Plummer, Donald Pleasence, Barbara de Rossi. "Nosferatu" (2023) by David Lee Fisher with Doug Jones, Sarah Carter, Joely Fisher. And a sui generis rendition: "Shadow of the vampire" (2000) by Elías Merhige with John Malcovich as Frriedrich Wilhem Murnau, Cary Elwes, Catherine McCormack, Udo Kier and again William Dafoe as Max Schreck.
