Pizzaman delivers the pizza and experiences life. I don't agree with those who blame the directing or the actors and the whole film. This film is rather a vision than a simple story. A vision about different things in life, included love.
The actress playing Mannácska is a very attractive woman, it's a pity we cannot see her in other Hungarian movies. OK, she's not an excellent actress, but she has her charm and she was OK in this movie. The actor playing Pizzaman was OK, too, although he's not an actor either.
The movie is rather a puzzle of different video flicks (different visions), which at the end happen to meet. Every flick has something to tell us, but don't expect moral lesson or such, it might be just a joke or a satire or a parody of our consumer society or just a parody of itself. I liked the dialogs very much. The characters speak in untranslatable word-pictures throughout the movie, which I've found very funny sometimes. If you ask about the location of the story, there's no obvious answer. It's Budapest, of course, but sometimes it suddenly changes to a city in USA or to a seaside resort (and Hungary doesn't have seaside). This has its hidden meaning, of course.
All in all, this is a good Hungarian film. Don't watch it like you would watch an ordinary movie.

This film is supposed to be a comedy/parody placed in the post-communist Hungary, soon after the fall of communism, when people desperately wanted to get rich easily and quickly. The easiest way to accomplish this mission is to lamb down the German tourists who visit Balaton, the Hungarian "sea" - thinks Feri, the movie's central character played very well by Gábor Reviczky.
The problem is not with the actors. The cast is exceptionally good and all the actors perform very well, they really do their best. The problem is with the script and directing. I wonder how Péter Tímár could write and direct such a bad movie. What kept him motivated to finish this project? Maybe I just can't buy his humor. Even worse, it made me suffer.
Sorry guys, but I just can't score this film higher that 1. :(

I don't understand why this film is so underrated. It's not a Hollywood movie, of course, so don't expect something similar to American family/adventure films. But it has the specific Hungarian flavor, it has many funny moments and the cast is fabulous, better than I've expected. The child actors play very well and make you forget that this is just a film, gripping you along with the story.
The adventure begins when a family - 3 children and their parents - arrive in a village off the map to spend their summer vacation, as usually at the grandparents, who by the way are former performers (clowns) of the famous traveling circus "Bombardi". But it might happen that this is their last summer vacation in Modolány, as the grandparents' house and property is soon to become confiscated by the village's richest man, who has evil plans with that property. So the children have to figure out something to hinder his plans.
