The guy behind this can't be serious. This guy should be under the bigtop for this clown ass work. Not even lil kids would be entertained. I have a feeling people watch just like they rubberneck past auto accidents, you don't wanna look but sometimes you do. Get a life and stop your minute rice box preaching vids... please. This is DEFINITELY a show worth The Hunt! Al Pacino is the reason you watch the first episode (because you know Pacino ONLY involves himself in quality work) but the plot and the other equally riveting characters compel you to stay and binge for a spell. (Light details follow about character development and general show direction, but no real spoilers, for those that wish to stop here, do so now). Jonah Heidelbaum (played by American indie actor, Logan Lerman), is the protagonist of the series. He'll remind you of that bullied, nerdy kid from elementary school, and that is every bit, intentional. Lerman channels exactly what those in the writing room and the directors intended.... A likable guy (think a grown vision of the main character in "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid") that wants to grow a set of balls and in his quest to do so, like a little brother or sister, he will ensure that he gets on your LAST NERVE because he cannot get anything RIGHT, to save his life, literally. But hang tight, there's a ragtag group, with Al Pacino's character, playing Jewish Daddy Warbucks, Meyer Offerman, at the helm. This group, under Meyer's leadership, is determined to turn him from a mouse into a lion... But the path isn't that easy nor are the missions for this group as you will see in all the trailers. There are story archs galore in this superbly written series and fantastic directing which sometimes felt like it was A HUGE NOD to the famed but quirky movie director, Quentin Tarrentino, which is a big compliment for Hunters squad of diverse directors, which also is deserving of a round of applause. All too often, women and minorities are ignored as talent for major series and this show avoids that very pitfall. The result? A series guaranteed to pull you in from the first scene of episode 1, In the Belly of the Whale, all the way through the final words of the final episode of season 1, episode 10, Eliu v' Eliu. There's PLENTY of action sequences to support the drama contained herein.... which is to say, you'll be on the edge of your seat regularly. What else can I say? Season 1 of Hunters was definitely a hit... BULLSEYE AMAZON! May all the subsequent seasons of HUNTERS follow in that same tradition of season one's greatness... MAZEL!!
Is it a pretty story? No. Is it realistic? Yes. Keke Palmer shines bright in this gritty tale of a girl raised to be a tough pimp... Yep, a little girl who grows into a young woman with a tragic, dark yet gripping story line. Definitely worth your time and energy. Keke took a risk in playing this role, a VERY drastic departure from previous projects which will catapult her into doing more mature roles (i.e Hustlers starting Jennifer Lopez coming in September 2019). Want a star to watch? Keke's right there... Don't miss her rise!
