We're liking Mervin more and more each episode. Despite the reaction to the snake and the lack of driving skills, it's good to have a bit of a tough guy as the detective for a while. He and the others get along really well. And the language/culture barrier is clever. We hope he stays around for a long time.
As for story lines, they're extremely far-fetched, but that's part of the attraction of this show. It's a relaxing beautiful break from the grime of almost every other show being produced.
Darlene's character has been less snarky, which is GREAT. Seb is too much though. Hopefully his character calms down a bit and becomes less clownish.
Wonderful show. Loving the sunshine and beaches from a distance.

This episode is too dark (visually and topic-wise) and too violent and much too creepy. It doesn't match the usual vibe. It's not a vibe we would choose to watch.
The violence started in the previous episode which was a shame because the episode was great until Keaton started in with the violence. We ended up fast-forwarding through it as well as this whole episode.
Some of the best features of Tracker are the beautiful locations and the interesting co-trackers he finds along the way. We thought Keaton would be one of those, but he just ended up unlikable. Granted, he did get the culprit and the crimes were horrible, but that brings us round to this episode not being what we expect from this show. It was way too dark.

This episode's mystery, though seemingly not written by Ann Cleeves, was a good one and we got to see some beautiful locations (town square, bridges, ...) that we haven't seen before.
The arrival of an extra snarky (SO annoying) Joe and the absence of Aiden and Jaq ruined it though. It was very satisfying to see Vera fight back, but Joe was/is such a pain!! His character never was a favorite.
Despite the grating orneriness, we're always grateful that the writers and producers choose class over crass when it comes to vocabulary and gruesomeness and the like. They do a great job of keeping it gritty without being grimy.
