While it is true that parts of this movie and television series are childish it is not as bad as some other users may say. The kids quite funny...even my cousins (who are all quite young) found that many of the jokes about "babes" and "rock" were very satirical. Coming from generations of rock loving family I know that this show can't be taken at face value. But rather much of it should be recognized as a jab at the side of "big business music" and the image it portrays.
For all of those people saying "it's disgusting and should never be witnessed" why not try getting a giggle out of it's intended satire instead of just bashing at the film....not to mention the young actors.

I was very much amazed by this film. After seeing the show on Broadway and falling in love with the stage production I had very high expectations for the movie interpretation. When I saw this I was floored. There was a real chemistry that one needs to see, and the phantom was not cheesy, but believable. I do however have one comment, I wish they could have found someone who could sing instead of having to dub most of the film. I realize that screen actors aren't always singers but I was a little concerned that they could have made a little more effort. Does anyone else agree that the phantom was very sexy pre-mask removal? The black and white portions showing the future were very creative, they delved further into the story, explaining what happened to the Phantom and Christine. And it's good to know that there was a happy ending...(I cried, and I don't cry very often)...so CHEERS to Phantom for it's wonderful adaptation from the state to the silver screen!!!!
