I go into Tubi movies with low expectations and this one had decent acting. The characters were annoying at times but it wasn't due to poor writing it was just like having that annoying friend or family member who you don't get their decision making. Then we get to the ending! I would say if you can, watch it with someone else just for the discussion it would trigger.

I watched this with some friends and the ending led to a great discussion. Once we put our gender bias aside we realised that the murder was a decent option because more people benefited finaically from the winner.

The couple are both idiots, but it show what a serious lack of communication in a relationship can do.

I avoid watching wlw content written and directed by men because they always put their heternormative and ego into the art. However at the time of me watching this it was out for 2 months with no written reviews.

Positives

Realistic looking actors. Body types and complexions were showcased that normally aren't. Fem/fem.

Time-lapse of the couple bonding. Usually with movies you don't feel like the timeline was realistic.

Realistic personalities. Zoe and Crystal are both toxic and want love in their own ways.

Acting by Yaseem, Angela and the sister were amazing for a low budget film, supporting cast was a bit painful to watch at times.

The Drama, the Toxic personalities were entertaining.

Cons

The first argument came out of nowhere. It went from lovey-dovey to wtf in a second. It would have been nice to see some red flags that were overlooked because of "love". Crystal does address this slightly.

Summary

I came into this with little to no expectations based on Brian being involved. Brian did a great job with the directing and I will give him, his jacket.

Audio, lighting, makeup, costume and everything we don't notice until it is bad in a movie, was good in this for a small budget.

I don't know if the team would ever read this, but you guys did a great job.
