I found the film to be excellent with the cast, even Steve coogan underplaying his usual self.sally Hawkins Carrys the film and Stephen frears gives the actor plenty of screen time.there has been a lot of naysayers both on social media and in the news.about the journalistic licence given to the storyline.ok so the Leicester university was set up yo be the bad guys with Lee ingleby being singled out,but what they miss it's only a film, and it where myself being shown in a bad light I too wouldn't be happy, but let's call up another success for the British film industry, along with Mrs Harris we might not manage hollywoods output but we have heart to our films.
Just watched this film, found it interesting, the story itself being based on a true story.the starry cast give it their all.how much is true I've got to Google.christian bale doing his best Peter Falk impression,Margot robbie and John David Washington all give deadpan performances.mike Myers unrecognisable as another character embroiled in the shinanigans.all parts big and small including Robert de Niro who gives a rousing speech I think partly aimed st the trump administration.a film could easily have come from the coens brothers.stay till the end credits to see the real general portrayed by de Niro give the speech verbatim.
This charming and disarming films goes to prove that you can still make films like they used to.its a film which resonates today as the original version with Angela lansbury might have done then.an honest woman ada Harris is a character we would in this cynical age be called twee or too good to be true.the rest of the cast equips themselves admirably.jason Isaac's I thought was underused, but did well in his small part.the empowerment of the working women was well used as the right to strike which is happening right now.back to the film it's good to know yet again its possible to have a hit film without bad language or violence.
