Hard to judge this one-obviously very well made as are all Nolan films-however the problem is that the ignorant public often interprets these historical movies as fact not fiction. Every Hollywood movie including this one that portrays Communists always shows them as caring wonderful people basically saints that would not hurt a fly-30 million Christians were murdered in the Soviet Union by these Communists-we never ever here about this because it doesn't fit the Hollywood narrative. So that is the issue-not how well done this film is but the actual intent of the producers-which is to distort history.

Cage is great as the academic loser thrust into the spotlight. The movie itself is a bit of an inkblot test-much like IN THE BEDROOM-where the viewer is left to interpret the meaning. Coming so soon after the Scamdemic where the stupid sheep accepted that my covid injection won't work unless you get one the irrational behaviour of the cowardly mob really hits home. Very interesting movie as the viewer is the only one really cheering for Cage to succeed-his wife and kids and all his friends all join the cowardly mob out of fear. A great example of how to make an outstanding low budget movie. The actress playing his wife is superb as the unlikeable turncoat-as are all the supporting cast- but really it is another great performance by one of the all time great movie actors.
