Yes it is different from the rest of the show. A tertiary character explores the actual start of where this all began far away from the usual setting and without any of the main characters.
Of course this will garner low reviews - but the setting and the story was really compelling. I'm pretty saddened that people seem to adverse to this one off change. It's refreshing and ties the whole of the rest of the show to the real world, even when this town is also fictional.
Arquette does a great job portraying someone who is manic with trying to reclaim a truth.
I also really enjoyed the stark, outdoor shots, they keep with the liminal look of the offices, even while outdoors.

Wonderful to watch this well produced documentary after viewing The Lost King. The journey, almost from the start of the dig, is well laid out, the excitement and facts constantly building up as each new find is added on.
I do have a complaint though. Simon Farnaby, who really just inserted himself into this, has made himself very much the focus and voice of the find even though he had so very little to do with it. He is just a host - nothing more. It is such a shame that he purposefully overshadows the actual team behind the discovery instead of playing the narrator, explaining the story as we go along. The whole time it's "our skeleton" even though he is just following along as the real experts lead the way. Quite a turn off.
