I'm watching this show in 2025 - decades after it first aired. The program is full of empty headed terrible characters that understand and reflect on nothing, they simply react badly with extreme violence to every snippet of gossip that they hear. If you are trying to understand why America is tearing itself apart and lashing out at allies and competitors alike you only need to watch this and other "young adult" oriented TV shows like it. None if the characters are likeable and the over the top story lines could easily be substituted for what passes for American politics today where the wealthy mean girls and boys wreak havoc over the lives and worlds of the average citizens who are merely disposable background characters to the ridiculous melodrama of their "betters" who are actually far worse.
I'm with several other viewers who are giving this effort a low rating nit because the idea of the story was bad or the production values were bad or the acting and directing or editing were bad, I giving it a low rating because it is not simply unfair to viewers but it is cruel to produce and air a first season cliffhanger without a pre-approved 2nd season deal. This happens far to frequently and the people behind the production - the studio - should not allow it if they are not going to green light a second (or 3rd ...) season. They should have aired an episode that wrapped the story up for viewers so that if another season did not arrive the story could be seen as complete. In the event of a second season, the audience could have been surprised by the "I'm guilty" announcement and the ingoing investigation. This is just a cheat and I feel that I have been duped into wasting 6 hours of my time on an unfinished "who-done-it". Nothing worse.
I really like most Jason Statham movies but this is such a mixed bag of extremely tired clichés that it is best described as a Cosplay action movie. The Mexican bullies are cookie cutter, the black drug dealer is a racist through back to a White man's nightmare from the 1970's. The Russian gangsters are all tats and family grievances with black SUVs and weird costumes that look like they are made from sofa upholstery. Jason is in a custody battle - but must be a killer to protect someone else, what are there 100 films with this plot? The someone else is the entitled (but much loved - too much love?) daughter (another 100 movies?) of a friends and of course the "cops" are corrupt, in a movie mashup of the Hero must prove his parental worth/must save his daughter action hero plots. Jadon is Jason everybody else plays their part but it is all predictably predictable. If you have the time and like Cosplay you will be OK with this no more than average Saturday matinee movie from the late 1900's released in 2025.
