"People know my country as it is reflected in the world media. I tried to show how Cuban people actually live. I tried to show that we have dreams and hopes."

These were the words of the director; before I saw this excellent documentary in a special presentation for the foreign media, last November, in La Habana.

Technically, the movie has a fluent editing of parallel lives of Cuban people. The theme keeps the viewer a bit 'far' from the story; it is clear that the movie was made more for foreigners than the citizens. It has no dialogues; not even one word. Instead, it has very strong international visual symbols. So gains, the word 'Suite', its own international meaning.

Suite Habana, tries to show that excluded Cuban Society, is no different actually from all other societies; in a very calm and sensitive way.

I can hardly keep myself revealing the 'very clever' magnificent surprise of the documentary! It is better I stop writing now... Hoping to see it, at least once more.

This is a story of a man who wants to grasp and hold his beloved one by him and a woman who insists on that her love can't be grasped; 'she' only can deliver hers. It has written Comedy, Romance etc... but, this movie doesn't include anything funny, I believe.

After I see the movie, I thought that love springs through a one's heart and it has its own spirit. It doesn't have to have any company. The matter is if it coincides its mate; that's it. A must see masterpiece for lovers.

This is a story about love and faith. The author discusses the two comparable concepts based on the beautiful novel of Aytmatov.

One can say many things about the technical handling of the film. But besides, the story flows slightly and fetches the viewers eyes till the end. Questions appear on mind; What love means? What does faith mean? Can love keep a couple together? Did you ever fall in love? OK, then answer this; did you ever TRY?!?... A woman with a baby stands between a one who loved too much, and another who did try his best.

Sometimes life do not allow you to choose. It forces you through its own stream.

Kadir Inanir and Turkan Soray starred in many films together. This film is one of their best few. Ahmet Mekin was shining, as well. You'll love the movie, if you are one of those who likes stories which sparkle questions on one's mind... And a little warning; watch out for your tears...
